How The US Navy Lost The Shipbuilding Race to Chinese Navy

China’s naval shipbuilding can ramp up significantly more if necessary.
What about maintenance? The US doesn’t think the Chinese shipyards can adequately maintain all the new ships they are building.

China's Shipyard is one of the Leader in Shipping Maintenance market also.

Even the most infamous 'Evergiven' of Evergreen Shipping Company that Blocked Suez Canal a few months ago.
Comes to Chinese Shipyard to do maintenance & Repairing 8-)

. . . .
AB Flight III is close to 10,000 tons.

Only 9,500 tonnes.
More than 3,500 tonnes difference.

Even China's Type 055 Heavy Destroyer is much Bigger than Oldie Ticonderoga Cruiser (only 9,600 tonnes)

. .
Looks like China's Third Aircraft Carrier Construction (Type 003 CVBG) is in full swing

This photo - allegedly taken on 23rd October - shows, the Flight Deck is already Closed and the Waist Catapult (EMALS) is now also Covered due to Installation work

The Fourth Type 055 Cruiser (13,000 Tonnes) also already finished the Sea trial, and will be Commisioned to China's Navy next month (November 2021) as DDG-106 PLANS Yan'an for Southern Theater Navy

Also will be Commisoned in the same time (November 2021) are Amphibious Ready Group LHD-32 PLANS Guangxi (40,000 Tonnes) for Eastern Theater Navy

And another one just put Commisioned yesterday (25th October) Haixun 09 (10,000 Tonnes) for China's MSA

The different between China Coast Guard (CCG) and China MSA is China Coast Guard under Central Military Command meanwhile China MSA under their Civilian Government.
Both have same job, to Protect & Guard Chinese SLOC (Sea Lines of Communication). CCG tend to goes to Hot zone area (First line defence), meanwhile MSA tend to goes to Calmer area (Second line defence)

A blurry image shows the Chinese Navy's second Type 075 PLANS Guangxi (LHD-32) arrived at a military port in the Eastern Theater Navy. It’s on schedule to enter service soon. (Image via wb/捣蛋就捣蛋)

Chinese shipbuilding has zero credibility and the reason is simple, too much AI and automation little or zero craftsmanship

Japan, South Korea and UK shipbuilders use manual master craftsmen to do welding

just like the Qing dynasty who had 1,000 ship navy and Royal Navy wiped it out in 24 hours same will happen today because of low quality of Chinese workforce

China has no master welders, Royal Navy has a group of master welders in BAE systems who can be deployed anywhere in the World in under 8 hours

a master welder is someone who has decades of experience and can fix any issues when warships are deployed and underway

which is why UK can sends its warships to South China Sea but China cannot send its warships to UK waters, zero confidence if something break downs

if a ship is damaged they are repair and overhaul it and get it back into the fight

China will have to send it back to dry dock for repairs if it doesnt sink

we call them tin cans cheap scrap metal put together in 6 months

Unfortunately for you, actual shipping companies who sail worldwide 24/7 buy giant container ships and tankers from China.

exactly commercial shipbuilding not military shipbuilding

many Chinese warships are built to commercial standard all US one military standards only which is why it takes 2-3 times longer

Lol so you're saying someone can't walk or lift weights in a gym but can run marathons and powerlift. Ok.

Do you even know the difference between commercial and military standards and how easy it is to go back and forth between the two?

Hint: look at the US itself.
