Germany didn't have the massive resource nor massive population nor Industrial Capacity of China.
China Industrial Capacity, Resources, Population, Energy Production, Shipbuilding, Steel Production, and Economy is much much Bigger than the US

How can we win when no one challenge US?
There is no one defying the US in SCS or in any ocean of the world. All China can do is build up islands in the SCS to push it's claim on the waters. No one believes in those claims other than China.
All of China's neighbors from Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia and others have claims in the SCS.
Not to mention the constant US, Nato and Quad patrols in the area. I used the word "dominates" in the context that no one can go toe to toe with the US.
The US Navy is currently the best and one of the largest most successful navies in the world. It's history is littered with victories across the world.

US ordered an end to construction of military bases on SCS islands. It in fact did so multiple times. The islands continued to be built. To willfully do something that was ordered to stop is called defying that order. Their 'constant patrols' have not compelled the building to stop nor have they been able to remove the buildings.
Because we need them to stand up on their own. But challenging our allies means challenging US? How does that work? That is like you challenging Mike Tyson's sparring partner and said you can beat Tyson himself.
