The Saudis and the Assads go back a long way. However, the relation was much better when the late Hafez al-Assad was alive.

Just my opinion,

The real cause of syrian conflict is Hezbollah and Iran and syria both supported the Hezbollah and Mainly Hezbollah kicked the Israeli butt.

Hezbollah was or is very strong in Lebanon and cannot be toppled until support from syria or iran is cut off

To secure Israel, the Jew played their cards very well, made Assad Look bad, blame he is the bad guy killing his own people to gain international support and off course Saudia, qatar will do everything which are in the interest of America or in the end favors the Israel.

Just to disable Hezbollah and so called Iran influence, they killed 60,000 syrian people and are continuing it. Its just politics
