Fighters phased out:

1. F-7 - 180 (Copy of Mig 21 bought from China) (3rd gen aircraft)

2. Mirage III - 75 (Bought from France in 1968 and second hand from Australia in 1990 after Australia retired it from their air force) (3rd gen fighters)

3. Mirage 5 - 82 (Bought 48 from france in 1973 and 20 second hand of their air force in 1990 and 14 in 2000 with Rose upgrade, which basically was a upgrade of air frame and some weapon bay.) (An upgrade variant of Mirage III basically a 3.5 gen fighter)

So total number of fighters with PAF by the end of 2017 will be in between 238 - 263.[/B]

I don't think so PAF is going to look very different & we will see these changes in coming years.

Not only PAF but IAF and PLAAF too. In air force things don't change all of a sudden and based on present situation I have predicted the how the three air forces would look in the next five years.

Can you provide any official link of your claim, because I have done some basic research before quoting these numbers. Difference of 20-40 odd fighter can be there.

I doubt you can find any 'official links' from the official websites. But it is well known that the more than 8 regiments of AF and NAF have introduced J10A/S. If the production of J10A/B/S keeps at the same pace, there will be around 600 J10 by the end of 2017.

Dude I am ok with that. Having some aircraft and maintain the total strength is better option than retiring and lowering the total strength. Same what IAF is doing with Mig 21. It's close to fourth gen after update to Mig 21 bison but it's airframe & body is not in the condition to sustain the extra life pressure and we get the news of 1-2 Mig 21 crashes every year.

But since these fighters were actually 3rd or 3.5 gen fighters and post 2017 is the era of 4.5 gen ang 5th gen fighters, these fighters has not found place in the actual list.

And even if any air force keep using their 3rd gen fighters, they are not included in the discussions.

2. J-11 - 210 (140 already built and 70 more on order.)

F16 - PAF will not recieve any more F16s . You have 1 Sqn Block 52 rest Block 15 Total number 63. Turisk upgrade at a Max will bring to Block 30 level. In order to move to Block 40 or above you need changes in Colings with Lokheed Martin needs to approve.

JF 17 production rate of 22 is inflated again.

J 10 - 36 Russia has not given consent to China to export AL 31 Engines.


Mig 21 Bison will not be phased out before 2020 NoR Jaguars will be Phased beofre 2025 they have been Heavyly modified.

Russia will not sell Su 35 to China. They have had some Good Experiences....
