Its an illegal abbatoir ban enforcement. The ban was already in the statutes, dating from Indira Gandhi time in many of the states.
Either you uphold the laws or you get comfortable with lawlessness. Having circumventing of laws brings into question why have laws in the first place.
So there is no new beef ban by the BJP.....as though they came in and decided to ban it out of the blue.
that bawaal over egg in midday meal: do u remember? can you justify that? cheap egg replaced by costly milk (daal was even costlier then), which become "nil batey sannatta" after a few weeks. why ?? because some 'sentiments' were hurt.
That was no ban. That was non-adoption of a recommendation. The focus should be on assured coverage and consistency of the current meal (dal, chana protein based) to all schools (which has been lacking in BIMARU states). Then there can be tackling of how to best add voluntary components in accordance to dietary sentiments....once the system has been made robust enough like it has in the south and the east.
Again not a ban.
2.daaru ban, im not complaining. its good for the society overall but friggin suicidal for tourism industry.
This was BJP sponsored? It was a supreme court decision....and not to mention the several dry states already having such that are non-BJP....where highway or no highway, liquor sale is banned period.
Tourism industry can learn to adapt (focus on long term development and not short term seedy cha-ching)...why not give a chance to see if death rates from drunk driving in the highway goes down...and see what the value towards the economy of that will be?
1.ladkiyon ke saath ghoomna ban (not in papers but in ground). married couples are harassed in the name of culture. leave kissing, holding hands can attract severe beating for the man and uncountable repurcussions for the lady (beating, molestation, stripping, gangrape to name a few - reason will be that an immoral lady "deserved" this). this trend is increasing, NOT decreasing.
Anti-romeo squads are increasingly supported by women, esp in underdeveloped areas. When the rape and eve-teasing problem is mitigated to enough extent we can talk about the inevitable side-effects of enforcement...and how to best create compromise and balance (with better training and focus).
So again its a popular-based move based on real issues people have to confront and are sick of....because of decades of neglect to basic provision of law and order on the ground.

So the mainstream media and so-called "activists" can indulge in whatever usual shenanigans (thinking it amounts to one iota regarding the regular voter base like they tried with demonetisation)....BJP knows what its doing here and what the sentiment and inter-play on the ground is.
2.religious conversion ban (very important one- if christians can lure adivasis into their fold why cant we do the same, but instead we resort to strong arm tactics, threats etc etc. i believe that even a million conversions by the christians is not equivalent to what happened to the Stains' family.
There is fundamentally no concept of conversion into Hinduism...so there has to be balance against the activities of Christian soul vultures (like the ones that shamelessly went into Nepal after the earthquake). These legislations are all targeting forced, coerced and monetary based conversions which bring much associated social strife and tension. It is quite independent of party rule as well, Himachal Pradesh brought their legislation under congress rule. You have little to no idea how the soul vultures work and what kind of rubric they follow either under Vatican or evangelical diktat....and how when fissures are split wide enough, they actively want human blood for the altar as seen in the Sri Lanka civil war (ask
@Gibbs if you dont believe me). You can ask
@Chinese-Dragon about what they did regarding the Taiping rebellion too. Plenty of other examples around the world.
There is no such targeted proselytising of vulnerable people in vulnerable situations from the other major abrahamic religion (Islam)...so why should their be a special allowance for Christianity to do as they please to create strife long term for the sheer sake of hoping for a domino effect in "heathen" dominions (which is the only international modus operandi now ever since the reformation and the turmoil and bloodshed that inflicted on their own heartlands given the outright crusader style expansion philosophy from before).
