What's new

How do you Chinese view the rapid development of the past 35 years?

Whether one party or multiple party is good, I stick to Maoism. Mao advocate multi-party elections, press freedom and independence judiciary and economic socialism.

How many Mao's works did PDF people read. Lux read a lot. I swallow up many of the Mao collection, 毛主席选集, and that is the reaason, Lux is able to put forward ideas that most are not able to.

During the civil war period, some Mao's ideology during that time is not only the treasure for China, but also for the entire mankind and it is time to rediscover them.

???????????ۣ?һ???ġ???һ?£?

In PDF,LUX is the ONLY supporter on Mao's ideology.
That's propaganda during civil war against one-party KMT regime.

It certainly has elements of propaganda not just to KMT but also to rally all party cadre. In short, this is what your fathers are fighting for and are willing to lay down their life for.

Your fathers laid down their life for freedom, justice and equality. No one will be willing to sacrifice themselves building a system whereby one asxhole shit on the rest, no justice in court, and wealth concentrated on hands of a few.

A strong central government?? Or is that just the Confucian in me speaking. Usually, in history, the general chinese couldn't careless who in charge as long as everyone is fed and well off.

I will first answer your question in broader context. All communist members, including Mao, Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping...etc started off believing that they are fighting so that Chinese get good -- that is democracy, justice and equality.

On the way, circumstances and tough environment make them turn bad.

We need to go back to the original ideologies and believe of your fathers who have made PRC possible. Your material well being and strong China is not the results of cowards, traitors, greedy capitalist..etc. It is the result of people who believe in democracy, freedom and equality and are willing to lay down their life.

A strong government is good during times of upheaval. Mao need strong government to fend of enemies. Xi need strong government else projects who involve relocation of millions, for example 3 gorge dam will never come to being.

I believe good is needed in everyone's heart. We must not tolerate evil. We must strive to build a system of good, calibrate it probably, instead of watching evil and sit by do nothing.

That's why any dynasty did great in the initial several emperors. When the government was not centralized, the administration became incompetent, thus creating poverty and riots. Eventually, an uprising happened, a new dynasty replaced the old one.

What is the decentralization due to? Mostly due to incompetent leadership of a hereditary dictatorship system. How to fix this problem.

Democracy, justice and equality?

I think the way is not so simple and China must find her way.

Kuan Yew hate democracy and why he allow democracy in Singapore, though using all sorts of gangsterism to weaken it, but nevertheless allow opposition operate.

The reason is Kuan Yew know that without opposition or when the ruling party is too powerful, she may be capture by incompetent leaders. Opposition is the ONLY way to make the ruling parties and elite wake up at night and panic. Opposition is a good anti-corruption institution.

CPC is learning our system. How to make CPC hegemony forever allowing rooms for some opposition with a facade of democracy.

There is some difference between opposition party and opposition(constructive suggestions). If u mean the first one, I'm totally against it.

What China does is called primacy of politics, in the US and in the last 20 years increasingly also in the EU, it's the primacy of the economy, which will lead to slavery and exploitation.
couldn't agree more.
the blind worship of money in its extreme form is anti-humanity much more dangerous than people playing politics.

Agreed with @AndrewJin , a strong central government, independent judiciary and meritocracy-based public governance.

I want to see the government to regulate the economy.

I would like the critical sectors to be never privatized, even when they are unprofitable. Restructuring is better than selling-out.

I wish to see the immigration policy to remain tight and open to the exceptional individuals only. To fill out the demographic gap, simply further ease the policy that limits its growth. Opening up immigration at the cost of China's demographic growth capacity would be high-treason.

In foreign relations, I am happy to see China to finally lead some initiatives of economic nature. I would like to see that trend to continue into security, and, in that regard, China-Russia partnership should be further institutionalized.

I would like to see China to remain Northeast Asia focused, forming a super economic powerhouse together with Japan and Korea. The proposed trilateral FTA must be signed soon.

Finally, I want to see my own place, Taiwan, to fully integrate into the mainland in 2020s and HK to be stripped of its separate status, especially in terms of the right to print money, run a central bank and run a separate customs and issue separate passport. These privileges should be taken away.

Totally agree with you, my anticipation too.

Is that possible?? What is the consensus on the ground in Taiwan?

Is that possible?? What is the consensus on the ground in Taiwan?

The "temporary" (or, on the ground) consensus entails that Taiwan never declares de jure independence and never station foreign troops on its soil and waters, and China allows economic breathing room for Taiwan.

China hopes, through economic integration, a political solution will be achieved. China allows a big trade deficit to the favor of Taiwan, in its good will toward the island. Increasing number of tourists visit Taiwan and further agreements are signed to facilitate people to people interaction. Millions of Taiwanese are working in Mainland, as well.

But there is no consensus on an indefinitely separate Taiwan. That Taiwan is part of the PRC and that any attempt for independence is a declaration of war is written in China's highest institution, the Constitution. The PRC, by its Constitution, is required to protect its inherent territories.

The strategy is such that Taiwan slowly but surely falls into the sphere of China's growing influence and power.

Geographically Taiwan is too close to China. Once China exerts its dominance beyond the first island chain, Taiwan is done. It will be already absorbed.
