I see that after a member gets banned/suspended he/she cannot even log into the forum.

Suspended members can be given two facilities (just two):

1)Login into the forum.
2)Usage of visitor messages (in case they ve contact the mods).

they can be still barred from opening threads,replying to posts etc.

Admins please look into this.

The idea behind suspension is not to piss somebody off, but to let them know they've done something wrong and in most cases to force them off the forum so they can cool down, recollect their thoughts and come back stronger.
