Hitler’s Strange Afterlife in India

Me too consider Hitler a great figure. and I belive there is no harm in doing so. There are some reasons for that he supported Indians against britishers. Secondly, he was admirer of Swastika, which is also our cultural symbol. Westerners must not find it odd if birthday of Hitler is celebrated in India.

@KS except Gandhi also ended the letter with "your sincere friend". Shocking you would say that considering a simple google search of founding father of india takes you to Gandhi.

That is a common misonception and something like me saying googling of "failed state south asia" mentions Pakistan. India/Bharat was not "founded" on Aug 15 1947..it was Pakistan that was founded on that day and later BD which was founded on 1971.

@Tshering22, i agree that is why he is famous but despite his kowtowing to the British he had the same goal of indepence. Of course British also tried to do the same thing with the Muslims but it backfired and instead they turned Muslims and Hindus against each other. I am on my phone will so cannot give long responses.

Not to mention that the British Indian Army had Muslims serving :coffee:

Apparently, he was one quarter Jewish. Though, it's just a rumor.

and also had homosexual tendencies too....he was short and suffered from napolean complex as well

as a leader -- when you see him speak --- i can understand how he managed to COMMAND crowds though. He had a lot of emotion and a lot of charisma and Germany post World-War I had been robbed of a lot of its pride and glory; plus they were broke and living in a period of major economic uncertainty.

i can actually understand why he wanted to target the Jews -- who always operated like a state within a state; had their own culture, refused to integrate with the country; had their own economic system and their own internal circle. Not a reason to kill them all though. That just invited trouble and morally it was wrong as well.

had he not slaughtered the Jews, they would have remained in Europe (where they belong) and Palestine would not have been an issue

I don't see enough reason how they should admire a man like Hitler. His "Secret Indian Army" failed miserably. Total FAIL.

Here's something very interesting (real world):
BBC NEWS | Europe | Hitler's secret Indian army

In the end, the British became aware that the Indian Army can no longer be relied upon. And from there, independence, and partition followed.

Can Hitler be attributed for that? No. It was merely an alliance of convenience.

That man is Subhas Chandra Bose.

Both him and Gandhi had their contributions toward what is now today known as India.

Yeah, Germany was heavily indebted after WWI. Their currency became worthless.

And the Jews? I think he simply wanted to make a scapegoat out of them. While they were loaded, the Jews were however politically very weak. And that made them vulnerable. They were politically very passive.

I've always been intrigued as to how he commanded so much. Some say he did it through "paranormal means". Apparently, Hitler was a great fan of the occult sciences.

Logically, a state for the Jews should have been established in Germany. However, Zionism is a completely different and rather unique vision. But let's not get into that.

no, the bolsheviks/jews were actually sympathetic to marxism/socialism and this did not bode well with the Nazi regime --- which was completely opposed to that political ideology

Yet another paradox of India!! India has (apparently) favoruable views of Hitler yet has never had a case of anti-Semitism and Israel is one of India's most trusted allies and most Indians have a very favourable view of Israel and its people!

+even so I think the way it is being done is exploring Hitler's poltical sentiments not his personal predujices and horrors and as such there is admiration(if that it the right word) in some quarters in India of some Hitler's policies meybe towards economic growth and the like. But let's not forget in Europe there is an ever growing facist/right-wing/Neo-Nazi movement that is a movement of thugs, racists and bigots.

This isn't the case in India- these children aren't about to go and kill/beat up a Jewish person.

Either way this is the case of only a tiny, miniscule proportion of Indian society so doesn't even warrent comment, yet here we are.

^^^ Also many people are just curious because they heard of him as a super baddie. In India there is no such phobia that if you mention hitler in good way you will be arrested. Similarly europeans and americans may not know some of the things Indians are sensitive about.

bravo. and what India needs is to keep these degenerates to a minimum . India , the one I was told when growing up/upbringing, is for all. Proud of the country that fixes it's phuck up's. The majority of the populace that spoke up, for example, about the two Muslim girls being unfairly targeted in their face book comments- gives long lasting hope.

As an atheist I can tell you I never come across more bigots as those come from religious backgrounds.

Hindu is not before India the way my father brought me up. It is humanity first. I will forever continue to live my life that way and bring my kid to follow the same. I know, I side tracked but it pisses me off when people give into prejudice or support the height of prejudice like Hitler because somehow the economic gains trumps it.

Except people do not write about Pakistan in books as a failed state yet every book on India lists Gandhi as your founding father and you guys call him "Bapu", what is that supposed to mean??

Hitler was a racist imerialist who invaded other countries and slaughtered civilians. Try opening a restaurant or shop named hitler in india and public pressure makes sure they shut down or change name.

Timur was a racist imerialist who invaded other countries and slaughtered civilians. Most pakistani families have kids named Timur.

And why are people being thick with gandhi again? He wrote a letter imploring hitler to avoid war, so he signed it your freind gandhi, what was he supposed to sign - your enemy gandhi??? Stupidity seems to be the norm here.

HUH? Hitler is probably a good figure for you because of ignorance. per you- If a serial killer, according your logic, supported India, you would also be for him.

disgraceful and luckily a minority. we can't expect every person that is a part of a countries demographic to be smart, and you are example 1.

your bar of following someone is backward. funny part of it is- he would have gassed you, had you been in Germany regardless of your Indian heritage, as you were not his perception of pure Aryan. your brown skin would have been roasted dark brown in his chambers.

Its interesting to see all these loud mouth Indian talking sh*t about Gandhi. It was that half naked old man that did the work in getting the Brits out. He delivered freedom at midnight.

In return the fundamentalists put a bullet in him.

Great way to treat the man that delivered where the others failed including the Hitler worshippers.

Bapu means father, it's a term of respect and failed state is a failed state.

How are we being thick with Gandhi, he did refer to him as a friend that is a fact, his purpose behind it was irrelevant and he even signed as a friend. Also he is referred to as the father of India, and you people call him "Bapu" so why all of you are acting like anything I said is illegitimate. In the West everyone calls him the founding father of India, I know because I spent a whole semester about it in college learning about the man so why are people trying to discredit him? Just because people did not agree with how he went about his business??

They think he was too "pro Muslim" there are even some Indians on this forum who have his killer on their avatar and applaud his death.

Bapu means father, it's a term of respect and failed state is a failed state.

Keep trolling, you ain't proving nothing you are just going to bring out the Pakistani trolls. India ain't so better off, we know about the ills of your nation so shut your trap.

Gandhi is the founding father of India, he may not be the only one but he deserves just as much credit as the rest of them.
