If rss/vhp/bjp do not control the loudmouths then say goodbye for bjp in 2019 for sure.The educated class is not very happy hearing such comments regularly from bjp mp's.

Modi is in a bind, if he takes action against RSS/VHP, he will surely lose 2019, and if he does not, there is a high probability that he will lose all respect even among his fans (and election)..

That is true but the VHP has their own pieces of agenda they want to push for, just because they are associated with the BJP doesn't mean they are on the same page. Plus quite a few in the VHP & the RSS hate Modi's guts. They are not one big, happy family as many think they are.

How Christian Healing Parties are strengthening the diverse and secular fabric of our country? In Hisar Church incident, the priest there bought land on the pretext of building a house but start constructing a church and started to lure people with marriage prospect if they convert. Should we tolerate this kind of cr@p in the name of secularism? Few minor incidents and respectable people from Christian community comes out say "I DON'T FEEL LIKE AN INDIAN" I say fcuk that, if stopping Missionary funding to NGOs makes you say you don't feel like an Indian, you were never a one to begin with.

I don't think we're getting the full story. There cannot be an over-reaction to just a few incidents of chicken-shit attacks, there must be more below what we know.

to fully know the feeling of christian minority, one has to stop being a hindu and imagine being a christian minority for a month.. you read so many bad stuff happening that you will feel you are under sieze..
now it might not be all that bad.. but chrstistians as minority always felt relatively secure(compared to hostility muslims get in India).. so its shocking for them...

I don't think it's just a question of 'reading' stuff. BJP and hindutva orgs have always been troublemakers on ground. I remember when BJP was in power in Karnataka several muslim traders inwere randomly and frequently intimidated. They were just ordinary businessmen. Your 'cadres', specially when rallies of RSS were happening would go ahead and do that. They have an explicit intention of targeting the Christians. This not the Christians overreacting, this is the Hindus not getting the complete picture.

That's funny, isn't it? You & I both see the over the top reaction and simply can't believe that what has happened so far, atleast what we know of, gets a reaction like this. I don't know for sure that there isn't any more but considering the reaction where everything has become a "Hindutva" conspiracy, certainly don't believe anyone is hiding anything.

If you ask me for my "conspiracy theory", I would say that this is the Christian organisations firing a shot across the bow of the Modi government. Preemptively. Just like the VHP & RSS are doing.

Was talking about Modi. Not the BJP. RSS & VHP aren't thrilled to have a guy like Modi in the saddle. Didn't take orders in Gujarat and he hammered the VHP there. Their support for him during the elections was because of the pressure coming in from the ranks below, not because there was support from the top.

Actually unlike what most people think, minorities don't usually react immediately to threats. That's because the tendency is to see if things can be worked out with the new dispensation- especially one that comes with as huge a mandate as Modi. You can't counter a force as overwhelmingly powerful as him. Things have to be getting really bad for such complaints to come up. And no, I do look at Julio Reberio's outburst as serious. If even if he says that it's 'exaggeration', I don't think that with his experience he would have just childishly jumped at something. It may not be as sensational, ut something serious is definitely going on.

I agree.. but generally well off christians are still secure and untouched from any hostile action by hindus infact they are quite respected.. I dont think Mr Ribeiro will ever face any threat.. although I fully understand his sentiments...
