Hello all, I am an American & I'm not sure if it matters but of Ukrainian-Russian & Polish descent. I am here to discuss things about Islam, geopolitics, discussion about things, military history & modern equipment. As well to make friends & maybe learn more about others & their views.

I'm currently a college student studying for my Mechatronics associates degree in applied sciences & engineering. I'm hoping to also eventually get my bachelor's and master's for it.

Pleased to meet everyone!

Thank you for the warm welcome! I think it's always good to have differing opinions on things, media often plays people against each other!
Differing opinion is okay but abuses, trolling and insults or racial slurs and false flagging are not okay. Following the rules is important. If you keep these in mind, you will always be welcome here.

Nice to have you on aboard. Anything you need clarfying on, do please tag me. I was just talking about how your country opposed and crushed extremism. A lesson for Pakistan.

It's always diificult for a state to act against people who on one hand hold very dangerous view but on the other have significant support in society. In fact such issues are the hardest to resolve and often pose greater threat then external enemies. But they must be opposed with iron fist. Or the state will begin to crumble. One good example of this is the USA civil rights movement and the clash with the deeply racist south in America. We all know what happened in Birmingham, Alabama. And we also know that President Kennedy brought out the US Army to face off the Governor. The federal government came out on top. 100 years before that they had a civil war. But the union fought until it prevailed.

Thank you! I agree America has some good things it does regarding Counter-Terrorism, but it also does some very bad things like funding rebels for our war industrial-complexes financial survival. The biggest issue with America is usually internal though, our people are rather divided right now not only on our current leadership but also the directions to take on immigration and counter-terrorism or how bush labeled it a "war on terror". Most fellow Americans of my generation I speak to oppose our involvement in the Levant and Central Asia. It's mainly older generations who still support our conflicts in other countries really, I think as time goes on America will slowly take a more isolated outlook once our newer generation begins filling power positions & the military machine begins to slow.

While I think we've made many mistakes regarding fighting terrorism in the past and now, I also think we are slowly working to try and fix the situation. I think any country like Pakistan however can look at our C-T operations to learn how to fight terrorists and help in securing their country like you said. It largely comes down what I've seen from studying it to win the people's trust, help them in providing necessities and being able to secure that trust and maintain it by providing protection and needs terrorists no longer can.

I hope all goes well for Pakistan! I have some friends in college from Turkey, Bosnia and China who all say they have much respect for it. Be safe friend :)

Thank you friend, I always follow rules on boards as they're there for a reason, but I know many who come here likely do not. I look forward with chatting with everyone else during my stay here!

Was it President Eisonhower who warned about the 'industrial-military complex'. I think what he warned about has happened. US foreign policy unfortuantely hurts lot of people and actually make enemies for America for no reason. But be that as it may I can't fault the average American. I will be be making my [first] visit to your country [holiday] mid Decemeber [New York] so that should be interesting. I feel I know America like back of my hand from all the American movies and TV I have watched over the years. So now I am gonna get to see for real face of America. Should be interesting.
