Arming the Rohingya may not be a good solution, because there is only 800,000 left and that number may not be enough to support an insurgency. Also Islamic insurgency will raise the specter of "Islamic terror".
I recommend for Bangladesh to find ways to support the other insurgencies in Burma - Kachin, Shan, Mon and Karen. Thailand and USA may already be helping them, but everything has to be covert, with plausible deniability and absolutely no evidence of any connection to Bangladesh. Laos also has border, they might be helpful also, together with Vietnam, although I have no idea how they feel about Bamar's and if they may take the risk of getting involved. USA/West may help as many of these rebel groups are Christians and its a human rights issue.
Both China and India have adopted the vicious imperial Bamar Junta (Bamar's are 20-25 million) who have built up a big army with Chinese and Indian support in the last few decades. Their goal is to wipe out or assimilate all minorities. In case of Rohingya, the Bamar do not want to assimilate but purge all of them, using Buddhist Rakhines, who share their hatred of Rohingya's. Essentially they are our Asian version of Hitler and Nazi, right in our neighborhood. This shows the depravity of China and India, both countries have sold out these minorities who are fighting for their lives, for the sake of economic and strategic self interest. Only USA/West did not give in, because of Suu Kyi's instruction. But Suu Kyi herself is a Bamar and her political power is based on Bamar support, so her main concern is democracy of Bamar's. Bamar's I think more or less agree with Junta policy, because for them its an issue of ensuring Bamar domination. I don't think Suu Kyi matters that much in the big picture. It is the military junta, their Rakhine armed militia and the rebel insurgents that are the key players in this theater. The Junta is using an Suu Kyi's "democratic" reputation and goodwill to open up the country for FDI. Note, Hitler was also elected as democratic leader.
In any case, we need better intelligence assets to get more real information from the fiield.
I call you boy because you come up with these grand fantasies about insurgencies, invasions and nuclear shields. Like a boy playing computer games.
Our problem with our minorities is a big problem and I hate the junta for how they have treated some of them. But the difference is that that is ACTUALLY an internal matter. They are Myanmar citizens and not through conquest but through the Panglong Treaty signed in 1947. I don't see how Indians 'sold these people down the river' as I don't see why it is directly India's concern.
I don't see why the Indians shouldn't have a vested stake in Myanmar. India and China are rivals and it serves both of them to court us. The more foreign investors the merrier.
I curse Pakistani govt, they should give Rohingyas nationality of Pakistan & open the doors for them along with stranded Biharis in Bdsh. There are millions of illegals living in Pakistan from all over the world & their countries are peaceful but these guys who are facing attrocities everywhere they have not been allowed.
My tribe gave refuge 10 million of yr tribe and you are not ready to do the same to even a few thousand of yr own. Such bigotry can only displayed by a Muslim.
Must say I am completely in awe of yr religion.
Yeah. When it all falls apart, Bangladesh will invade.... with Chinese nuclear shield ofcourse. Right?
Bangladesh does not need to invade, Kachin, Karen, Mon and Shan will be enough to take care of your pathetic army. Why should we dirty our hand, if we can let others do the job?
But who will support their insurgency.
OH n u guys are the smart @$$ and burma cant support insurgencies in ur country??
India gifted ur country its independence, aar koto korbo bangladeshi musol der jonno ae baar neeje lodo , BTW why r u fellas crying over human rights issues for minorities wats the state of hindus n buddhists in bangladesh??arre i forgot u are a muslim majority nation n its ur birth right to slaughter non muslims
Why would Myanmar attack fleeing refugees when Myanmar sees Rohingyas as illegal settlers and would be happy to see all of them gone to Bangladesh. Seems more like a conspiracy theory.
China, Thailand, Evangelical Christians, the Masons, Hizbollah, KGB, CIA, the Lizard People, Aliens from outer space and Bangladeshis ofcourse.
