I dont know man but they were trying to go back to Myanmar while pushed back by Bangladesh. Ask they Myanmarese, seems like they dont go by reasoning..

The report says it was on pushed back (by Bangladesh) refugees not the fleeing ones only, did you pay your time to go through it?

The shooting took place after Bangladesh border guards turned back six boats of refugees as they tried to enter the country from neighbouring Burma across the river Naf to Teknaf town in the southernmost part of mainland Bangladesh, the witnesses told RFA.

This is very sad. Bangladeshi's refusal to take refugees is just pathetic. We took millions of their people during 1971. Pakistan took millions of Afghans during the 80s and 90s. And they can't take few thousands of these people coming their way. People are starving at sea and being shot at and killed. Instead of crying here on this forum and blaming everyone else why aren't the Bangladeshi's go on the streets of Dhaka to protest against their Govt's decision?

Pakistan took millions of Afghans during the 80s and 90s. And they can't take few thousands of these people coming their way. People are starving at sea and being shot at and killed. What the current government wants is for the world to pressure Myanmar on the issue. But, I think it is premature and potentially sends the wrong signal to Myanmar.

The most important thing I think is for this issue to be addressed effectively. But nothing can happen because of this government coupled with Dipu Moni's inexperience.

I don't know about Myanmar but Chinese do exactly opposite to Tibetans, they open fire on every fleeing Tibetan so that he could not enter into India bringing bad name for China. That's why I asked ,"why Myanmar will do such thing."

Well, 30,000 of them get displaced. Surely, something must be going on there. Might as well allow foreign media over there for starters so that we can get a better picture.

I do not dispute with UNHCR's commitments.

The Bangladesh government's response on the issue is regrettable, perhaps stupid.
