Heavy firing on the LOC - 6 plus Indian Soldiers Killed

Pak used heavy artillery on Friday at LoC: IG BSF

Srinagar: Asserting that Pakistan Army used heavy artillery that caused casualties to civilian and security forces in north Kashmir on Friday, a top Border Security Force (BSF) official on Sunday said that issues of human rights violation should be raised against the neighbouring country.
BSF IG Rajesh Mishra said that Pakistani Army also suffered huge losses during the retaliatory action by Indian forces. “In an unprovoked ceasefire violation, Pakistan used heavy artillery to target security force posts and civilian areas in north Kashmir. Security forces suffered loss of lives due to Pak shelling. Lot of harm was also inflicted on civilians, including damage to the property and loss of lives,” Mishra told reporters during a wreath laying ceremony held in Srinagar on Sunday.
Eleven people — including six civilians, four Army soldiers and a BSF Sub Inspector — were killed while several others were injured when Pakistan violated ceasefire by resorting to heavy shelling and firing, targeting multiple forward areas in three north Kashmir districts on Friday. Several residential houses were also damaged in border villages in Kupwara, Baramulla and Bandipora districts.
Answering a question about the details of the damages caused to Pakistani troops by Indian Army in retaliatory action on Friday, he said those details are yet to come. However, he said Pak defences were inflicted a huge blow during the retaliatory action by Indian forces.
The IG BSF said 250 to 300 militants are waiting on launch pads in Pakistan administrated Kashmir (PaK) to sneak into this side of the LoC. But, Mishra said that the anti-infiltration grid along the LoC is on high alert to foil any attempts by militants to sneak into this side. “So far we have been able to foil most of the infiltration bid from PaK. We are certain that any attempt by militants to infiltrate into this side, to create disturbance, will be foiled effectively by the forces,” he added.
About his message to international community over the damages caused to civilians during Pak shelling, he said the issues of human rights violation by Pakistani Army should be raised with the international community.
Paying tribute to the BSF SI, Mr Mishra said that the martyr deserves highest tributes as he fought bravely. “The SI, a 2004 batch recruit, was deployed with the artillery wing of the BSF. We pay tribute to his valor and stand with the family of the martyred jawan,” he added.

2. Disconnecting Siachen from india
3. Protecting J&K Kashmiris and liberating Jammu and kashmir

These two are simply unfeasible in the short term (unless you simply mean Azad JK), and the Siachen is a pretty petty conflict without much to gain.

If you hit them hard enough and perhaps ever so discreetly slowly but surely move Pakistani posts forward in certain areas, this may be a more optimal strategy.

Brothers, I just found out about the increased tensions at LoC. Can anybody enlighten me on why there are a flare-up and the current situation?

All the best to Pakistan and Pakistan Army. I hope you've secretly imported Turkish EW systems to decimate the indians. If this escalates, then let's liberate Kashmir once and for all.

:turkey::pakistan:🇦🇫

That time is very close brother, we shall be running over IA together.

Yes I happen to know the timeframe somewhat, after 2023... It should not be more than a year (may be within a year) after that.

We shall see.

@Signalian @PanzerKiel If certain, tactically important features and ridges cannot be physically occupied currently, then what's the prospects of denying IA these positions by consistently targetting them via artillery assaults?
These duels will occur every year. The prospects of advancing into J&K have been put forward in other threads and different plans have been discussed. I was addressing the concern of protecting AJK civilians from Indian military bombardment but somehow one thing leads to another.
I can see through replies of Indian members that I have already stirred up quite a few nerves here  Poor fellows.

.
the thing that amazes me is the crazy confidence people like @Signalian still have to write long essays on possible offensive actions against a multiple times bigger Indian army.

Nothing new, this has always occurred. Pakistan's offensive manoeuvres within the Kashmir region have generally proven to be more than capable of acquiring more land. The issue is how long can it be held onto, whether or not political pressure would make Pakistan relinquish such territory, and is the cost worth it?

no wonder Modi had to run and hide far away in a tank.

This is exactly where India made a huge military blunder. Indian Army underestimated Pakistan Army's deployment and weapons and is now equally involved in paying the price through blood. India wanted a war of attrition on LOC with this false thinking that Pakistani troops will suffer multiple causalities everyday day which Pakistan wont be able to replace due to the brutal logistics measures in the Kashmir terrain. The wounded will fill all the military hospitals and when fresh troops will see a long line of wounded, their morale will hit the ground. It will be tough to keep supply lines open on roads for weapons, ammo and other supplies which are in reach of Indian small arms weapons and artillery. Pakistan Army will not be able to support troops which have to be deployed in far flung mountain tops since helicopters are limited in number and will not find place to land unless open areas or make shift helipads are made. To further ensure that helicopters don't operate at all near LOC, Indian Army put 35mm and other calibres of Anti aircraft artillery.

While the Indian generals were over joyed with such an bold plan, the Pakistani Army punched the Indian Army right in the nose so the Indian Generals can realise their own stupidity !

Pakistan Army plugged the gaps on LOC by bringing strength of numbers through NG battalions (Janbaz or Mujahid ), which are used as defensive forces, while Pakistan Army deployed regular troops to conduct offensive Ops if and when required. The NG troops will provide flanking cover and defend all supply lines when regular Pakistan troops are tasked to go on the offensive. That is double the strength which Indian Army Top brass never imagined when they were planning their misadventures of causing attrition. Further on, a LID was raised and deployed behind FCNA Ops area of LOC.

So instead of suffering losses through a so called " war or attrition", Pakistan raised another 2 x Light Infantry Divisions, which are impossible to raise when a Military formation is suffering losses through attrition.

Next, Pakistan not only started building and manning posts in far flung mountain tops, but got pack howitzers and mortars to fully retaliate when Indian Army uses its heavy weapons. Not only that but PA troops also brought forward stock of ATGMs for direct fire to take out Indian Army bunkers, this was to compliment the SPG-9 and 35mm deployed for providing firepower. Then SSG snipers were deployed to keep taking out enemy stragglers wandering between posts. This is not 65 or 71 that Pakistan cannot make produce own ammo, POF is churning it out. Old stock is being used instead of being wasted.

Engineers started constructing roads, pathways, bridges to make inroads into forward positions. Then bunkers and hardened shelters were made along with medical stations. The depots and dumps were made road accessible. Pakistan RVFC started getting mules from Mona depot and used them extensively to carry supplies in inhospitable terrain of Kashmir. Thousands and thousands of animals were drafted and are still used today in the areas where vehicles or helicopters cannot reach. Pakistan Army increased strength of light and medium helicopters and made helipads in Military hospitals for quick evac. The 130mm guns and other heavy weaponry with ammo was deployed in inhospitable terrain through helicopters.

Wherever Indian Army built a post and deployed troops, Pakistan built a post in front of it on opposite side. This kept Indians in check and they lost space of area to spread and create a surprise. While Indians post hold more troops than Pakistan posts, the defensive posture of both armies ensure that Pakistan Army deploys its fire power accordingly to retaliate to Indian Army firing. Another mistake which Indian generals did was to tell their troops of how weak and undefended Pakistan's side of LOC, the frustration of troops led to suicides in Indian military ranks. This is why false bravado and brain washing through lies is not the best way to deploy troops on front lines. Logistics became a nightmare for Indian Army and a video of Indian soldier surfaced on internet about his rations.

Indian Army has been caught in its own trap and neither can Indian troops advance into AJK without suffering major causalities nor can they leave/withdraw from their current positions. The Indian troops have to withstand pounding of Pakistan Army's small arms fire and Artillery as and when Pakistani troops wish. The Indian Army has to count its dead and send bodies back home. Now the frustrated Indian media wants to match causality numbers due to failure of Indian General's plan.

The rat who tried to act over-smart with vile intentions to inflict damage has been caught in its own trap !

Lovely, nice read.

Imagine what will happen after you target them, it's be more horrific than that.

Yes, sure he got it. It's also understandable why Pakistan army operates in secretive manner on such issues the way it often does.

Not secretive manners but given the Indian culture, you may have expected a full day Bollywood coverage, a film being released or at-least a new documentary to praise BSF/IA. I am sorry to disappoint you but things works differently in Pakistan and that worth it. Pakistanis don't release item songs, shouting commentators & news anchors calling for Pakistani blood and then Bollywood released a new Rambo cut.

Even their own don't believe in the video they are sharing

Even Reuters took it back...

we have already said, that's not Pak Army post. Now their own professionals said so...
