Harvard predicts Pakistan GDP to grow by 5% over 10 years

.
it was over 7% in 2005
so its not about power shortages its about structure. yes power shortages takes a percent of the economy
in 2005 the whole world was growing at a phenomenal rate. The short term inflating income model busted as the inflation rose, energy shortages started to become evident and the recession in the whole world.

I think with CPEC coming online it would be between 6-7% over a long period but the right environment provided by Zarb e Azb must be sustained among other things.
CPEC won't add direct growth until Chinese shift industries in Pakistan.

Singapore's Park Lee. S. Korea's Park Hee. Turkey's Ataturk China's Deng Xiaoping.

Great men no doubt, but hoping for a benevlovent dictator is a complete hit or miss. Chances are you will most likely be stuck with a Papa Doc or Idi Amin for life. If given a chance, the current political system should provide long term stability to Pakistan. The military establishment have a strong say in foreign affairs and domestic security, the civilian establishment focus primarily on other domestic affairs. Its a delicate balance which if given time can give our country some much needed stability, which in turn will have a positive knock on effect on our economy. Patience is a virtue which we lack in though. We want the swish of a magic wand and all our problems to dissapear, but constant political upheavels, coups, counter coups etc completely paralysis nations, and essentially that is Pakistan in a gist for most of its history.
