The author is Indonesian and the name is not Chinese name.
The second link is from Malay people. Chinese ethics obviously don't have opinion on these. Why they care?

But that's doesn't matter and you are talking different things again.
I have not opinion what your woman want to wear.

I just pointed out wearing Hijab is a recent thing - started from 90s with Arab's religion push globally.
No one/many wear hijab outside of Arab before.
Traditional Uyghur headscarf is like this:

Traditional Hui Muslim headscarf:

Whether you prefer traditional headscarf or Hijab is out of context.

Also as point out by @S10 and @beijingwalker , seems hijab is not banned in whole China, only banned in Xinjiang due to extremist/separatist movement(I'm not sure about this as well, as I last saw the news is "new law" ban hijab in public service org and government in Xinjiang).

The author is Chinese Indonesian and once again she is not dare writing it in Indonesian publication since the publication that you mentioned is owned by Malaysian (most probably by Chinese Malaysian)

Most probably not Muslim since Muslim within Chinese Indonesian community is only less than 5 %

It shows that only non Muslim minority who may have an issue with the trend while 88 % of Indonesian population who are Muslim dont have any problem with this recent phenomena.

The rapid increase of women wearing hijab in Indonesia doesnt have any relation with Saudi influent since almost 90 % Muslim Indonesian follow Muhammadiyah and Nahdatul Ulama (two largest Muslim organization in Indonesia that were born before Saudi was even created) in term of the teaching of Islam. Popular private own Television and radios who are owned by Muslim entrepreneurs since 1990 until now can become the main factor that increase Islamization among Muslim Indonesian.

Let alone after we gain democracy in 1998, almost all Education Ministers are held by Muhammadiyah activist, except for this 2019-2024 period where Nadiem Makarim, Gojek founder, become our Education Minister.

Saudi type of Islam interpretation is more strict and although it get bigger influence among the Muslim now but pretty much it is still very minority.

Some Saudi type of Islam ( I dont mind personally since we have freedom of expression here) should be like this and indeed it has penetrated even high government official families.

Wiranto (Former Armed Force Chief and Security Minister since Megawati, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, until Jokowi first term) and his family. You can see one of the girl wearing some sort of burkha there is his own daughter.

Seems Indonesia is a different case.
I previously tot you were similar with Malaysia.

For Chinese Muslims it is started with Arab influence from 2000s.
There was a period they even switched to Arab language in Mosques in China.

I feel these Western liars don't think through their lies. They are also not sure what theme to choose to describe their lies.Anti-muslim, anti-Uygur, anti-minority culture . They were too greedy to invent a story that would infuriate the world the most, but they could not agree among themselves.

In the Jewish media, it's genocide, CCP is the Hitler of the new era. When some pointed out that many Uighurs were happy, the story quickly turned into a crackdown on Muslims, and the genocide disappeared.

In places where Muslims operate, the story begins with muslims, and when it is pointed out that there are many other Muslim groups in China, it turns into genocide.

If with evidence of the presence of a large number of Uighur police, soldiers. The story becomes cultural extinction.

But the real Nazis never stopped propagating because of the evidence. They just repeat the lies.

Will these media be punished for lying about WMD in Iraq? Would they be ashamed that their alleged Nazi accomplices murdered millions of Iraqi civilians?

I have a question. Are Chinese-Indonesian considered particularly un-attractive? This journalist looks significantly less pleasing. The other Indonesian girls were insanely beautiful.
This journalist is BEAUTIFUL with a cute nose and smooth beige colored skin.

More importantly is that she has journalistic talents.
Hopefully they don't choose looks over talent for journalists in your hometown.
No wonder so many crap news nowadays.

I dont think so, every race has their own average and attractive ones.

My oldest brother former girl friend is Chinese Indonesian and I rate her as attractive and some how she has some distinct beauty. The relationship is ended because she doesnt want to convert to Islam. Personally I like her as well.

This is Chinese Indonesian actress, Natasha Wilona. If you go to Malls or shopping center in Jakarta that are often visited by Chinese Indonesian like Mall Ciputra, Gajah Mada Plza (near their neighborhood), I think this kind of beauty is not rare among them.

Chinese Indonesian actor, Roger Danuarta, and his native Indonesian wife, Cut Meyriska. He converted to Islam before marrying her.

Islam is a religion which came in Arab lands, so why are you shocked about hijab?

I think some Chinese do not know what they are talking about and give a bad name for China.

Also quit racism against Arabs, what did they do to you?

.
I dont think it is fair to say it as an Arab dressing since hijab obligation for women is stated in Quran. Even you can see Christian nun also wear hijab, it is part of Abrahamic religion (Jews, Christian, Islam).

Yup, majority of Indonesian women wear hijab and even some minority wear niqab where only eyes that can be seen.

Despite so Indonesian are relatively moderate and the hijab they wear are in color, not just black like being seen in Saudi and several Arab states.

MRT Jakarta, Lebak Bulus station

Wearing hijab also dont make women less beautiful

Hijab is the best and modest way of dressing. It is prescribed in Quran and was worn by Sahabian.

Any country which fights against hijab will be considered enemy of Muslims and Islam.

It is in the interest of all countries to respext Muslim rights to live their religion how they choose.

.
It seems like Chinese from Singapore and Malaysia are Islamophobic and against Muslims in general, less so for Chinese from China.

That's right brother. That is part of human basic right that need to be respected what ever the circumstances is.

What the hell are you talking?
And when did I bad mouthed Arab?
You got comprehension problem?

I just simply stated the facts, why do you even feel offended?
For Hijab, as I said many time in this thread, I have no opinion.

I'm from China.
Thanks but no thanks. I'm not Islamophobic.
I respect Islam and Muslims.
And I expect equivalent respect from you that people can have different opinions, fair enough?

I have seen young Malaysian woman medical students in India. They wore a large headscarf and some heavy long tunic. I felt that they were over-dressed, not too different than a burqa.

@Nan Yang @rambro, do you see such dressed women regularly ?

If I remember correctly China Gov started a compaign a few years ago to encourage Muslim women to were their transitional headscarf instead of the Arabic style hajib which is introduced along with Arab's religion push in 90s and early 2000s.

I believe it is not directly from Arab lands that the large headscarf came from but it came from India. In my own extended family my relatives didn't wear the burqa 15 years ago.

We can see from the Turkish TV series Ertugrul that the main female character doesn't wear the headscarf but an indigenous local head cover which is decorated with jewelry.

Marina Mahathir: Malaysia undergoing ‘Arab colonialism’

I actually remembered a similar statement by her from years ago. Thanks for posting that.

Very important :
“Islam has a very strong intellectual history, but there’s no intellect at all in the way Islam is taught here. We’re taught rituals; we’re not taught about the great thinkers and differences between them,” she said.

“When you read the history of Islam when it first came down, it was about doing away with tribalism... but you now have this thing where you’re wanting to go to a tribe, or else, the other tribes, even though all are officially Muslim, are not allowed,” she added.

The Sunni denomination is the prevalent ideology in Malaysia and any other Islamic schools of thought, including Shia, are considered deviant.

Marina also criticised the authorities for “inventing new enemies all the time”, questioning a minister for telling Muslims to watch out for “Quranism” shortly after Dr Mahathir said the Quran is supreme and that hadiths, which are sayings attributed to Prophet Muhammad, come after the holy book.
