Green Books, red herring and the LoC war

Agencies of both countries are in this covert war since decades - Problem with bhartiis is that they start crying like little baby when we hit back.

We did not cry but we waited for correct time and i think our agency have done good job.

Talk about paranoia from the other side!!!

Some people are taking the Green Book and the supposed change in doctrine way toooo seriously and blowing it out of proportions!!!

Hey Nuclear,
You do not seem to have even read the OP and like some other folks, just came up with a knee-jerk reaction. There is no change of doctrine just as there is no "Green Book" as in one green book. These are just some hypotheses which get generated off and on. And which then also get talked about off and on. Nothing else to it. Till something else gets talked about.

RR, has'nt that taken place a number of times already? ;)
Iskander Mirza, Ayub Khan...........are just some of the names that come to mind. :)

Time changes things, we have bigger problems then Indian atm. And for the foreseeable future.

@RescueRanger,
Yes, times change or atleast they ought to. Only then will be able to meet at the border and drive together on the GT Road, maybe you can take me to Miyangee's for a meal; and I can escort you to your family home in Shimla.

In some documentary made by some ghora...i saw the indian army shelling some village near the border...the shells never hit the ground they explode right above your heads...the screeching sound of the incoming shells was deafening as the village was surrounded by hills...dont know where they were firing this shells from but it seems to be coming from many directions....the nearby posts the pak army has made bunkers and all the officers were taking shelter in those bunkers...the village folks were seen running to the hills...it was very scary...at one point the officer taking the cameraman back to safe zone had to run his jeep off the road as a shell lands very near....the screeching sound of the shells keeps getting closer and closer....it was like a horror movie .

Once dust settles down in Afghanistan , the problems within Pakistan will become clear to them and then we can take it from there. Internal conflicts in a small Pakistan (mind u in a geographical sense when compared to India) are growing at a exponential rate and have the capacity to break it yet again.

My comment was a bit general, not rally specific to the article.

As the article correctly says, the Green Book is like a annual publication of the military with numerous articles by different officers. Not a official mouthpiece of the PA nor a strategic paper.

I think India is doing just fine even it it uses only covert operations to punish pakistan. We don't need to give out details to the media for and each every action of ours.

My only point being: No enemy move should go unanswered.

It's from Praveen Swami, what more can you possibly ask for? Everyone were quoting him recently, weren't they?

Two different things.

Swami was doing onspot and investigative story on LoC firing on Indian claims whereas this is an article (which means own analysis by a writer quoting different people.

and frankly speaking

1. Articles mostly written by Pak Army officers or even assignments submited by them viz a viz geo-political aspects lack many vital points and thorough assessment. So i wont be suprised if it included rehtoric. I would once again stressed on army to take services of some real analysts.

2. Christine Fair is known for anti-Pakistan/anti-Pakarmy hate and blabbering thats is bread and butter of this writer.

Actually that story was also by quoting his sources from within the Home Ministry & Intelligence agencies. Praveen Swami is among the most connected to intelligence & defence sources & is not known for non-serious reporting. He is one of the handful of journalists who get access to the facts more often than not.

However you are right on what the articles themselves reveal and I would tend to agree with you except that it is a broad indicator of the direction that the senior army leadership is partial to.
