Govt mulls over ‘tough decisions’, public anger

The best strategy would be to increase prices step by step, not in one shot.

I agree with with @Guvera Imran Khan should take Nation in confidence and explain what are the options, and which will be the consequences of each one. I hope people will understand

he donates not his money but of public money gathered from others.the point to bring in to light is that every time poor public bear consequences of tough decisions and those who are in govt are not ready for sacrifice.such decisions will increase poverty and it seems he will not be able to make decisions which will cause rich people in govt to pay more taxes because his govt will fall if he does this.his house is too big for p.m of country like Pakistan.he needs no house when he is living in p.m house.

I hope you understand what you wrote.

Here is the extract of what you said and which is important :

[he donates not his money but of public money gathered from others....] isn't it the principle of taxes ? You got what you pay for? But remember also that hospital wasn't build in one day...

Regards.

Test for the moral succesors of Bani Israel if they can change their attitudes and become a nation for once.
Why there is always a test for common man in Pakistan from last 70 years?
Why not Ameer ul momineen is going after those who have got loans from banks and then have them written off and those tax evaders who have brough havoc .

If the common man isn’t worth the weight in the brain, they deserve this.

Mr Chaudhry said it was decided that the government would expose wrongdoings of the previous government to make people aware of the difficult economic situation.

Just about every incoming government has blamed the outgoing government for the tough decisions it is about to announce that burdens everyone with yet around round of onerous demands. This excuse works only for a short time. Rinse. Repeat.

You are in lovehate affair with awam Sir.
Nonthless expecting something from people's who have been purposely made ignorant about affairs of state, who have been left on mercy of Mullah's & Babus for past 70 years, who have been pushed into poverty. Our common man isn't able to think more them earning bread three times of day and some sawab.
State lies in ruins,we have a new Govt which is running like headless chicken from auctioning 2018 model vehicals to state buildings and bringing back looted money.
State isn't in a condition of bearing more jugglery of these charlatans.

The problem is that awam needs to essentially stop looking for saviors.

As for the current government, it is full of leaders and nothing more.

If you can grasp that problem then the headless chicken can get a head.

Its a human mentality of blaming the past.
Still, its change.. at the end if nothing else.. its change.

Belt tightening starts from top.

Start imposing harsh penalties if taxes are not paid starting at the very top. Get explanation of govt civil servants who have mansions to prove how they got their funds? just some trivialities.

@BHarwana

I will be honest we don't have an economic problem just a trade deficit and they have to work on that first. Now a big question here is why is govt not working to steel mill? Pakistan is importing steel and our own steel mill is in deficit this is some thing I cannot understand and there has not been a single word from Govt on steel mill?
They can decrease steel imports and put the mill in profit if they work on it first.

How will increasing tariffs on gas and electricity improve economic indicators?, this seems like a short sighted move to fill the treasury while in the long run it will destroy whatever little industry we might have left.

Test of leadership begins.Wishing luck to new govt.

You can expose last govt's decisions and shame them, but if your decisions start hitting people's pocket, expect goodwill towards you to evaporate soon.

Other option is to go to IMF because money does not grow on trees, but it can be borrowed from international banks and laundered easily to offshore bank accounts if you are Nawaz Sharif and Zardari.

Forgive me for my memory as i cant remember the exact figures but, currently SNGPL and Sui southern is buying gas at about 630 ruppes per unit, but selling at a price of about 154 per unit. Which was supposed to he subsidised rate but government is unable to pay SNGPL its loss. Which means they are making loss of about 450 per unit. I hope it clears the doubt, for exact figures search the news. Its not that old.

If you so much want to help government, just ask them to create "qarz utaro mulk sawaro account" and put your money in. Why poor has to suffer?

I understand, we are here due to elites, barucrates, gernals, politicians, past rulers, so they should pay. Those who are paying regularly should get relief.

Otherwise even previous government told everyone that they are here because of previous government. So for common men, same dailogues , same issues, and same solutions. Where common people has to suffer.
