Govt issues NOC, Raheel Sharif departs for Riyadh to lead Islamic Military Alliance

Shia will not dictate it will be done by Parliament.
There are both Shia and Sunni troops in Pak Army. What if Saudia asks for the deployment of only Sunni troops to Saudia, What will be the GCC collation then?

@Major Sam please try to anticipate the future. I don't dictate an idea but only narrate a possibility.

There is no sunni or shia army in pakistan. there is only one army thats Pakistan army without any religion biased. Pakistan comes first. So even if saudi asked for it we should know very well wat will b the answer of our army. It will be simple NO, they want pak army help we will send it but no shia sunni shit.

2nd thing Saudis helped us when ever we needed it most. So if we will not help them today then we should also think about out future foreign policy. relations are always two way. if we will help them they will help us. Since 1979 what iran has done for pakistan they just screwed us on every forum for india. neither m saying to go against iran but our foreign policy should b for pakistan without any dictation from any one.

For those who love saudis and iranians more than pakistan then they should leave pakistan or we should make them leave. This country is only for Pakistanis.

Major you are on point but the Saudi demand will come. It has already been cleared by Pakistani Army that there will be no deployment of Pakistani troops in Yemen. Thirdly Saudis are being trained in PMA Kakool and they recently got graduated from there. Thirdly there are 1200 Pakistani instructors in Saudia already. Pakistan is helping Saudia.

gave me tears in the eyes.
love and respect!
We need to understand that the ultimate objective is to put the fight in the streets of Mekka and Medine. It can't be allowed...

I think Yemen is the pretext. The ultimate goal is Hijaz itself....

Sir please take your grudge of Iran to Iran defense section of PDF this is a Pakistani discussion. Based on a Pakistani General going to Saudia. This issue is an internal Pakistani issue and we are discussing that. You want war with Iran please feel free to attack Iran but let us discuss our own policy.

Bozo if the Pakistani State wouldn't have given Noc the former COAS would have gone there. Do you get me and it was a joint decision. And you don't need any more troops from Pakistan an single Lion from Pakistan is enough to defend Saudi Cats.
Meri jaan I am a Pakistani.and I am loyal to Pakistan with out any sectarian nonsense. You in your posts talks about killing of "innocent shias"in yaman. That shows your inner inhumanity and biased about Yaman situation. So I ask you some questions.Plz answer the question.Don't beat around the bush.what Iran has to do with Yaman?Since you only care about innocent Shias (houthes)Armed by Iran.Innocent houthes try to take control the the govt By GUN not by election or ballot. So question arises.Did Iran married her "Phopo"in Yaman?Did yaman is a Neighbour of Iran? Last time I saw yaman was a Arab country. What do u think Yaman is a Arab country or not?Plz Answer the questions.

I knew that you were beyond any kind of help and not too bright but for your information Shias in KSA make up about 10-15% of the population. Similar to the percentage in Pakistan and surprise, surprise Saudi Arabian Shias serve not only in the Saudi Arabian army but in all walks of life and they are some of the most patriotic people in KSA.

And there is no need for any troop deployments to KSA nor Yemen.

Did General Sharif not retire? If so he should be able to do what he wants to. He is a single individual. He is not representing the Pakistani state any longer. You are giving this appointment too much influence.

No need to argue with this guy. He probably thinks that Yemen is a Persian country and not Arab and that it borders Iran and not KSA. He probably also thinks that Houthis and Saleh are innocent lambs and that no outside force, certainly not the Mullah's in Iran, are trying to support the Houthis/Saleh who face constant setbacks and now control less than 20% of Yemen.

Check out the Yemeni civil war thread on the Middle East section for more information.

BTW if Iran has a problem with this appointment (which has nothing to do with them) they can cry about it for all I care. Nothing they can do about it. It's not like KSA is going to change its views of General Rachel or his competence or lack thereof.
The issue here isn't what the war is in Yemen both sides have skeletons in their closet but the issue is about benefit for Pakistan by joining this Muslim NATO.I personally think it would be good for entire region Pakistan should play a role of a sectarian bridge as well as main source of human resource this will help us boost our capabilities and increase our influence

Sir I have replied you 100 times This topic has nothing to do with Iran. But if you insist I will answer you. Is there a civil war in Yemen? Yes there is. Who started it Houthis. Who are houthis? Yemeni. Now who is helping who? Iran is helping Houthis? Yes they are there is no doubt in that. Saudis are bombing Houthis and civilians? Yes they are there is no doubt in that. Now your question is? Are Irani justified? No they are not. Why did Iran intervened? To save Syria. Iran wants a diversion to Keep Saudia indulged in a war and keep them focused over Yemen. Iran has done quite a good job in what Iran wanted to achieve. Saudia is stuck and Yemen and Syria are tit for Tat. Now you decide what is the solution. They both need to pull back Saudia from Syria and Iran from Yemen. Saudia cannot defeat Iran even with the GCC collation in Syria. Iran cannot defeat Saudia even with the Russian in Yemen. This all will continue for years to come.

SO far there is confusion about its scope but i am sure in few months its goals and scale of engagement will be revealed

In May, there will be a meeting for chiefs of army of 41 countries to officially declare the start of the Islamic Coalition under the leadership of Gen Raheel Sharif.
Hopefully we see strong actions to counter terrorists everywhere in the Islamic world so that we don't give any red neck a chance to interfere in our internal affairs to implement their agenda.

Could this be the deal with establishment and noora? Raheel Sharif gets NOC and Massi Maryam is let off the hook in dawn scandal??

Yep.

All the hype has been created to hide the facts. Pakistani troops can never go to Yemen it is against the constitution after it was decided on Parliament and any Pakistani can take stay on the deployment of troops under Law. Every thing is being done to save Noora.

. .
when will this fat arse tubbar get destroyed, all there seems to be is robbery in broad daylight!
As long as we are Saudi ally we will pay the price. First in Afghanistan by bringing terrorism to Pakistan. Secondly when Saudis saved Noora from Musharaf. Thirdly When Saudis got Raheel's NOC for Panama Case. Three times is not a coincidence it is a conspiracy

.
Why are people on this thread keen to divide between shia sunni anyway? Can't brotherhood and unity be forged in Pakistan. Stop condemning shias, they are our brothers and friends. If they are accused of being sympathetic towards Iran there are many sunnis here very sympathetic towards Saudi Arabia. Love each other, respect each other.

Hounds of hell will remain confined in hell.

Strategic stability of ME is of paramount importance.
GCC including stability in Iraq is in Pak's strategic interests.

Those who desire chaos and violence are the enemies of humanity.

Pak must take responsibility and help shape strategic architecture in South West Asia and ME.

You know better than many, how all is interconnected.
And why we need stability in the entire region...

Time for Peace!

RS is a good man. He led the destruction of the indian terror proxies in Pak. He knows his stuff.

War is stupid. Peace is better. Time for Great Peace. Humanity needs Peace.

A coalition of 41 Muslim-majority nations is working to create a mobile military force to combat the Islamic State (ISIS) group in Iraq and Syria and militant threats across northern and western Africa. The alliance, known informally as the Muslim NATO, is preparing later this year to hold its first major meeting with defense ministers from across the Muslim world to define its structure and mission, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday

The Islamic Military Alliance to Fight Terrorism has become known as the Muslim world's response to the NATO military alliance. Its leaders from Sunni-majority nations want to go after jihadist militants fighting in Libya, Yemen, Nigeria and Cameroon, while helping to free ISIS territories in Iraq and Syria. Members include Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Mali, Chad, Somalia and Nigeria.

Saudi Arabia announced in January it had tapped the former header of Pakistan's army, General Raheel Sharif, to oversee the coalition's forces. The alliance has also agreed to have Pakistan send a separate, 5,000-strong force to guard Saudi Arabia's vulnerable southern border with Yemen.

It's unclear whether the coalition led by Riyadh will be plagued by the same economic and structural limitations that have stirred questions in recent years about the future of NATO. Saudi Arabia is putting in the bulk of the funding, just as U.S. military spending drives NATO's budget. In recent months, President Donald Trump has warned European NATO members that the U.S. might become a more reluctant ally if other nations don't increase their defense spending.

Conflict between Iran and longtime rival Saudi Arabia could also weaken the Muslim alliance's reach. Iran, a Shiite-led nation, has largely been excluded from the coalition despite its widespread influence across parts of the Middle East and Africa. Officials in Pakistan have already expressed reservations about any actions being seen as attacks against Tehran.

“This alliance is against terrorism, especially to help those countries which are threatened, but don’t have the necessary wherewithal to combat terrorists,” Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan’s defense minister, told the Journal. “We will not act against Iran.”
