The Mamluks defeated both the Crusaders and the Mongols. And sadly, they are an increasingly forgotten class of warriors.

"Some" you say? I am sure many would disagree with you.

Propaganda was one thing, but the military part was another. What would you expect out of a force of only one squadron of F-86 Sabers? The Eastern sector was ignored on many aspects. It was vulnerable more than any other part of Pakistan. Considering that we were literally surrounded by those 'kuffars'.

Sure, I'd fight for my country, but I like every citizen of the then Pakistan have rights.

During the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan back in the 80s - many young Pakistani fighters from villages were sent to fight the Soviet army. And were sent with little equipment. Do you know what happened to them? They never came back.

My point is that having a strong will and a thick skin is one thing, but you'd always want the necessary weapons and equipment to fight. It is almost criminally insane to just fight with faith alone. My uncle was in the Pakistan Air Force, and he did complain about discrimination. Fitna is the most dangerous thing among Muslims today. And they did was just that. Are those what Islam tell us? What was so "Islamic" about the West Pakistani leadership? Certainly there was nothing "Islamic" about Yaha Khan or his leadership.

Sure, there is still AL and Bhrot propaganda running all wild even today, but that's not a case here.

Just read a book ( Ni'amul Quran)... it is written there, A saint Oali Hazrat Shah Zubayer (R) prayed for win of Lord Clive Against Siraj-ud-daula... When he was asked about the reason, he replied He saw Hazrat Khidr (pbuh) heading with English soldiers....
The book suggested that, they had vision and they knew If Siraj-ud-daula would have managed to win against british, the war would make him so weak that later marathas would have defeated him so easily resulting complete destruction of Bengal Muslims... Muslims were safer under Britain....

" Crusade:Flame of Islam " by Harold lamb.. A good book to read!

when i was a little kid, i was huge fan of comics ( chacha chowdhury, raka, shabu, romon, pinky, Billu,, tintin, Mogli).. after that the first story book my mother gave me was " Muktijudher Golpo " ... i still remember the front of that book .... the book attracted me so much ... Maybe that was the day i was first attracted to Military! Pakistanis were depicted as Hyenas.. even lower than animals in that book! it made an impression on my little mind.... I used to hate them so much, used to call them HANADARS.....

I came out of that mentality/prejudice when i used to think freely and was influenced by religion during adolescence..
