As far as I know - in France full of suburbs, where the police are afraid to appear - there are continuous shooting, murder, drug trafficking. Immigrants live there. And throughout Europe such places grow as mushrooms " and sooner or later it will need to be addressed. How?
I think that they will move immigrants into deserted cities and villages of Eastern Europe - this will not solve the problems of immigrants, but solve the problems of France, Germany and others.

. .
Killer is from Azerbaidjan - Azerbaidjan is not part of Russian Federation.
Besides in London were immigrants riots couple of years ago. And in Paris even greater turmoil. In Europe with immigrants things much worse, that's why there are such vans.
there was no immmigrant riot in london... in the recent riot... all were involved..
Most immigrants stay clear of any illegal activity...because they are too grateful to the host country... cant say about second and third generation because it depends on the environment and class you get into.

People from the lowest dregs of society tend to do so. Not really Immigrants problem per se. More like universal.

There are many ways, this is not one of them. Such vans are very unlikely to deter illegals while managing to create offence to ethnic minorities.

There is little change of it coming back.

Why would it be offensive to ethnic minorities ? They are reffering to polish illegals, romanian illegals, ukrainian illegals to,illegals in general. Is there a specific line calling out asian/african illegals ?

This van did not appear out of thin air, its a product of constant villification of immigrants by tories for electoral gain, and in the current economic climate its much better to blame on immigrants.

And yes its as offensive to bulgarians and romanians and poles (although poles are permitted to come and work here without any restriction) because lot of things said about asian migrants is also said about these groups.(especially bulgarians and romanians who are targetted by many as they can legally work here without restriction from next year.)
There is constant hysteria about bulgarians and romanians taking over the country next year.

Exactly.Do you know there is a british campaign in Romania right now..."Romanians,don't come to the UK" ? In the end though, however insulted we may feel,if they don't want us there, maybe it's just better not to go.It's their country, crying about human rights just to force an acceptance seems pointless to me.If you continue to come, hate will only continue to grow.

A referendum would be in order. If the brits/any other europeans decide "shut the gates, expell them/man the walls" then it should be so.Can't the native/general populace of a country decide its own faith ?

of course they can, the right way is to pass a law or use existing law. They cant apply it retrospectively obvously. This is a country that allowed (and sometimes encouraged) migration.

The issue is not what they are doing (raiding businesses for employing illegals, tightening visa rules which I have nothing against) but what they are saying. What they are going around depicting immigrant as a negative influence has a hint of xenophobia hence their own minister condemned this ad.

About referendum to be in EU, of course its their prerogative, and they should definitely do it. What they cannot do, is remain in EU, promise to abide by EU law, and violate it. (Am talking about EU migrants)

x2 ,minus the xenophobia part.Desperate times,desperate measures..
I might add more to the romanian immigrants issue because the problem is more complex then the fairy tale "EU gave Romania money",many romanian own bussinesses, romanian industry took a hit and fell when we got into the EU because of the new legislation bringing unemployement with their demise, but that's another topic.Plus, they sure are happy in taking the doctors/nurses/engineers away but go emotional for the rest of the menial workers.

UK is only getting the consequences of it's centuries of exploitation of other countries.

If you do not want others to come to your land, then do not go to theirs.

.
India needs something like this against illegal bangladeshis...

On topic: Good initiative Britain..

Not only that is a stupid argument, it is a dangerous one.

You have effectively opened the door to other justifications. How about weakness, for one? If you are weak, you should be lord over by foreigners. It was used in the past, now you tacitly said it can be used again in the present.

It begs the question of why there are illegal immigrants in the first place. Did these people entered, legally or illegally, the modern day democratic Britain because of what Imperial Britain did a couple hundred years ago? I doubt it and I doubt they even cared for that far back in history. People do not abandon their lands because of history but because of wealth, or at least the potential for wealth. Not the palatial and butler-ed kind of wealth, but the kind that would make even an incremental increase over their current living conditions.

There is a great difference between being an immigrant versus being a temporary worker. An immigrant is one who intends to take roots in the country. He does it because he feels this country have far better opportunities than the one he is currently living under, or the one he left behind. Roots that WILL involve deeper community relationships, usually deeply emotional ones such as marriage and politics. A temporary worker do not care for these emotional relationships but only one -- money.

This has nothing to do with historical wrongs. If you do not like the current Britain -- leave.
