Hello everyone in the Defence.PK Forum community,

I am here to increase my knowledge in foreign affairs and military related subjects. I am a student of history and all things military. I am thankful that such a robust Pakistani community exists online to English readers. I am further delighted to see the professionalism and unbiased humanitarian - centric model of the site admin and moderators. The civilized discourse here is to be applauded. Far too often when it comes to defense and politics, jingoism and xenophobia go hand in hand. Yet it is not the case here from my observation.

My interest with respects to Pakistan: The connection between the Mughal Empire, Pakistan, and the Turkic world as a foundation for moving forward. I believe Pakistan is a Turkic brother, while maintaining unique local ethnic and linguistic foundations of a vast diversity ranging from the Punjab, Kashmir, to Balochistan, Sindh, and the nomadic frontier of the Pashtun people among many other minorities. For centuries these ethnic groups were successfully amalgamated within a Turkic empire that propogated Persian philosophy and language. Truly a jewel among jewels and highly advanced and progressive as a model both in theory and in practice. Going forward, I believe Pakistan's future is entwined with the entirety of the Turkic world.

I feel that the alignment of Turkey, China, Russia, Iran, the Central Asian Turkic states and Pakistan is an interesting development, something that would never be brought up during the Cold War.

Sincerely,

Babür Imparatorluğu

Thanks for the quick welcome aboard. Like I really said and meant before, Pakistan has a deep history to call onto during any troubling times, be it war or natural disasters. Pakistan is finding itself entrenched on the front line constantly, not only counter-terrorism but debates ranging from state sovereignty to practical political Islam.

I could have even harsher critique for India, Afghanistan, or even Iran. But the advantage Pakistan enjoys is its diverse origins and past. Countries like India will only promise one thing while butchering Muslims at home for eating cow.

Interesting perspective that certainly calls for discussion.
