just saying

from an astrological point of view

Lt.gen raheel sharif : born on the 16th of June which makes him a Gemini which is an Air sign & mutable

from an astrological - military point of view water signs & earth signs, usually fixed or cardinals are recommended , the other option are fire signs (though less then the above two) but Air signs especially mutables are generally avoided

Obviously Nawaz Sharif consults PDF only to go against it's vote/opinion. But really all four are/were deserving. Must have required few Aspros for NS to make up his mind.

Yesterday some people had issues with ISPR press release which said General Raheel belonging to martial race or something like that. I don't know what ISPR meant but General Raheel definitely has some serious military background.

1 His father was in army
2 Two of his of elder brothers were in the army.
3 One elder brother Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed can be safely called the most decorated soldier of Pakistan. He was awarded Sitara e Jurrat in 65 war and Nishan e Haider in 71 war for his valor.
4 His maternal uncle Major Aziz Bhatti was awarded Ninshan e Haider in 65 war. So two Nishan e Haider were given to this family.
5 His maternal grandfather was also a soldier.
6 5 of his maternal uncles were soldiers.
7 Many other from the family are still serving in the military

That is some serious military family background in my opinion. I don't think anyone else has such illustrious background.

Martial race was a designation created by Army officials of British India after the Indian Rebellion of 1857, where they classified each caste into one of two categories, 'martial' and 'non-martial'. The ostensible reason was that a 'martial race' was typically brave and well-built for fighting, while the 'non-martial races' were those whom the British believed to be unfit for battle because of their sedentary lifestyles. However, an alternative hypothesis is that British-trained Indian soldiers were among those who rebelled in 1857 and thereafter recruitment policy favored castes which had remained loyal to the British and diminished or abandoned recruitment from the catchment area of the Bengal army. The concept already had a precedent in Indian culture as one of the four orders (varnas) in the Vedic social system of Hinduism is known as the Kshatriya, literally "warriors."

Sir you are great Person I Salute Sir Love You Sir General Haroon Aslam I Like You :)

Why was the senior-most general superseded, even though PM Nawaz had assured that the principle of seniority will not be ignored during the selection?
1- According to reports, a major reason for overlooking the senior-most general could be his alleged role in the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. However, Lt-Gen Aslam’s close aide told BBC Urdu that the officer did not have any direct role in the operation against Bugti.
2- Other military officials claim that Lt-Gen Aslam’s unscheduled meeting with PM Nawaz was another obstacle in his promotion to army chief. This meeting took place after this year’s August 14 Independence Day celebrations at Islamabad’s Convention Centre.
An official at the celebrations told BBC Urdu that after the flag-hoisting ceremony, Gen Kayani and others saw the conspicuous absence of Lt-Gen Aslam, who stayed behind to meet with the premier. This irked those in khaki, he said.
Meanwhile, PML-N cabinet member Lt-Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch said that lobbying by the ‘main contenders’ of the coveted army chief post adversely affected their promotion perspectives. He was apparently referring to Lt-Gen Aslam’s case, according to the BBC.

Gen Raheel to assume army’s command today

RAWALPINDI: Outgoing Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will hand over the command of Pakistan Army to the new army chief on Friday (today).

The army chief-designate General Raheel Sharif will assume the command of Pakistan Army on Friday.

In this connection‚ a change of command ceremony will be held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Friday morning.Kayani, known as the ‘quiet general of Pakistani politics,’ has been given much credit for resisting the temptation to meddle in politics despite Pakistan’s frequent security, economic, power and political crises.

Kayani was appointed the army chief by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in 2007 and received an unprecedented three-year extension from premier Yusuf Raza Gilani in 2010.During his six years tenure, he came across formidable challenges.
