he and general akhter defeated ussr and took revenge of 1971

. . . . .
Funny, you should actually look up William Casey, Charlie Wilson, Zbigniew Brzezinski and a host of others who were the real masterminds behind operation cyclone.

Gen. Zia was an inexperienced and weak soldier who was promoted for being just that. Gen Rehman was also one of those who would have never progressed had it not been for the Afghan war and Gen Zia.

Without the support of US, we wouldn't be able to even make the Soviets feel as if there was an insurgency. Plus, if they wanted, they could have brutally raped Pakistan.

Zia & Rehman were puppets who were disposed when their services were no longer required.

What did our involvement in Operation Cyclone give us?

Dreaded sectarianism, guns culture, rampant drugs, millions of refugees, destruction of intelligentsia & civil society, withering rule of law and destructive militants.

All of which is slowly killing our nation.

Zia sold Pakistan like a prostitute and it ended up with AIDS.

What a great victory?

Truly we saved Afghanistan and improved our country.

The actual man behind the defeat was Charlie Wilson and the ISI DG. Not Zia in a long way,

I think you are mistaken.. it was Indian army chief who defeated Rusia. :hitwall:

If you do not know real facts than don't post your imaginations.

Zia was so important link that he was murdered at the end of war, while DG ISI is still living.

DG ISI Gen Abdul Rehman was also in the plane with Zia when it crashed.

They were replaced by Gen Mirza & Gen Gul.

Interesting story behind the Assasination, let's just say that the PA had enough of these foreign stooges and what they did to Pakistan.

.
Man a lot of Pakistanis say that General Zia is the cause of all extremism in Pakistan. And btw USSR was defeated by Americans. General Zia was used as a puppet just like General Musharraf.

Always leadership take decision for war not Generals , man read and grow by reading history of wars

And he has left the legacy that is ripping Pakistan's innards!!

What a legacy indeed!

And he is the 'pious Muslim' as he loved to project, who had no qualms in killing Muslims (Palestinians) in Jordan for a few Dinars thrown his way to kill Muslim brothers, who were already deprived of their own land!!

What a man!!

.
Wasn't he responsible for making "the great Satan" (as some Pakistanis call US) the sole superpower of this world?
