A very competent general. Wish he was given extension instead of bajwa.
How sad this is. A Pakistan ARMY COAS should not ever by employed by any other country. In effect his services have been bought by a foreign country. It really puts the prefix 'banana' to country Pakistan. Think about this. The COAS was chief of Pakistan Army who expected young boys to take bullets for lousy few thousand rupees. Under his tenure many were asked and died fighting. Compared to them COAS financial benefits are huge. He should have just retired and played golf in some posh estate.
This is exactly how foreign powers buy Pakistani elite. We already are aware of politicians being bought out. You saw how Saudia pushed Musharaf to be released and then got refuge in KSA. We already know about senior civilian officials who often buy property abroad and then send their children abroad. When they retire they also ship out. All this creates huge conflict of interest. Now even the military is being poached.
Think of it tis way. The next COAS might also want a cushy number in KSA, UAE, Bahran etc after he retires.Could that prospect dangling in front of him effect his responsibilities and policies while he is the COAS. Make up your mind about that.
Raheel was great soldier but he let Pakistan down. He ought not to have been given permission by the government but with Shari'fs in power what else did you expect?
I dont, neccessarily agree wit you about Bajwas incompetence. I mean do we know enough to be able to make a informed decision? Maybe you might have access to information that points to Bajwa's lack of ability but I have not heard or read about this. Often media makes heroes. I think generals who just quitely get along with their job is a good thing. And from what I have know that is what Bajwa has done.Agreed. If it wasnt for Bajwas sheer incompetance then no one would even remember RS esp after he gave his services to the likes of MBS
The entire story started when Raheel Shareef asked for and didn't receive an extension. Then the vendetta started against NS. The establishment, its top generals are less patriotic than all the politicians. It's all about self service. Once the general public understand the better the country will becomeDear extension never proved good for anyone. May it be Musharraf, Kiyani or even the present one. Had Kiyani left after three years he would have been remembered for long but he chose extension and rest is the history. Bajwa got extension, first Khosa settled his score through a randi application and later people like Diesel and kids like Bill owl and Nani 420 had cheeks and guts to ooze filth against him, Faiz and establishment as whole. I think this extension business must not be allowed in rules of business.

I would not tarnish the entire institution for some of the rotten eggs. RS has long gone why would the institution be sore about that? Extensions by the way are not good for rest of the brass as it blocks upward prospects. When a general get's extension by definition the tier below him will lose out as non stand a chance to make it to COAS as by the time the slots opens they will have been retired. The entire story started when Raheel Shareef asked for and didn't receive an extension. You are quite right, using rational logic, but if you have a God syndrome then you need to teach the bloody civilians a lesson. This is institutional memory. Believe me this is not just off the cuff but RS asked twice for an extension. Extensions are actually damaging for the army, however the top brass doesn't care.I would not tarnish the entire institution for some of the rotten eggs. I noticed he isn't saluting when everyone is, seems to be in a civ role. What sort of role is he actually playing in the "coalition"?
Presidency is a ceremonial office.
He refused extension. This is why he's not Bajwa!A very competent general. Wish he was given extension instead of bajwa.

IDear Sir please refrain from making statement about something basing on what Sharifs say and you don't have credible information. They were too eager to give him one year extension so that one of their relative comes to required seniority thats why General Raheel publicly refused extension 8 months prior to his retirement.
