Gen Bajwa discusses defence ties with Saudi Crown Prince

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman and discussed the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of defence.

The COAS has played a key role in bringing the Pak-Saudi ties to the present enthusiastic level.

Besides Gen Bajwa, Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Saeedul Malki also played his part in this regard. Before being appointed as ambassador, Malki was Saudi military attaché in Pakistan and enjoys warms\relations with Gen Raheel Sharif and Gen Bajwa.

The huge financial package Saudi Arabia announced for Pakistan during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visits to the kingdom has helped Pakistan’s economy become stable.

Gen Bajwa visited Saudi Arabia on August 22, 2018 before PM Imran Khan’s visit and held important discussions with the Saudi leadership. His visit not only resulted in positive effects for the Pak economy but is also helping bring peace and stability in the region.

It depends upon schedule, appointment or desire by Honourable Guest himself and above all, the strategic level of meeting. There are certain protocols, being followed in respective domain. Not every time, DM has to be present in meeting. See every single meeting in past with different dignitaries from around the world.

Why wouldn't it be? The entire cabinet have had meetings already probably discussing every matter under the sun, Gen. Bajwa is probably there to offer greetings and go over Pakistan military's current relationship with the Saudi forces

Defence minister wouldn't really be necessary for a brief meeting, unless they were discussing something like procurement or deployment

Like I said they probably aren't discussing anything outside the scope of Pakistan Army so I dont see why its a problem.
