STOP discussion about Russia in this thread.

Russia had its own mission in Syria - to defeat Syrian rebels with Assad regime and Iran.

US had its own mission in Syria - to defeat ISIL with SDF support.

Both had a hotline to avoid incidents.

Although, US and Russian forces did clash in the Battle of Khasham in 2018. The outcome is self-explanatory.

When push comes to shove, nations like Russia have the ability to go bezerk with nuclear capability. Air power is very important and gives an edge, but it is far from absolutely everything .

Air power depends on airbases. Russia and Iran can manage to completely neutralize American airbases around the world. Iran and Russia are kings of A2/AD.

Russia provided whatever it can--most importantly real time intelligence. China bankrolling. It would be pennies on the dollar for China to deplete the Americans in the eastern Med. Sea.

WE have seen it in Syria and Ukraine. S-400 system found to be useless in Syria and blown to bits in Ukraine.

Are you the Pakistani ACM by any chance? You surely sound like him. We once had such an ACM that didn't want to shoot US drones invading Pakistani airspace. His excuse? We can't face the US.
