How democratic voters (per a focus group) in the US are seeing the conflict in Gaza.
From 4:37-13:10
Key points focused upon by the group:
Risk of spill over into the region
Humanitarian crisis
The desire to educate on the conflict first commenting
The more “spiritual” lady in the front row focus on the story of the beheaded babies. But she is the one that wants to wipe out
anyone that fights Israel.
Fear of a wider regional war
Americans know Israel commits war crimes but …because the west doesn’t do anything the relations between the Muslim countries and the west will get worse
the group still, by and large, supports a response but not necessarily a ground invasion because it is seen as “defense”
The Group doesn’t want the us to act against the Palestinians
The group wants Biden to protect Israel’s current border but not necessarily militarily.
The group fears that the blowback from this conflict could come to the US.
The larger message was They want the US to be a mediator and stand for peace, perhaps send in peacekeepers. Not for the US to take offensive action.
