What's new

Future snapshot of PakTurk military cooperation.

But u were planning a mi-28n with russia??
U already got mi-35 from them and although t-129 is a light attack helicopter whats the requirement once u have mi-35 and mi-28n(proposed)??
Their roles differ. The Mi-35 is a multi role helicopter unlike the T-129 which is purely an attack helicopter. In addition to its attack capabilities, the Mi-35M can also be used in other operations like:
  • Landing-transporting up to 8 paratroopers, with equipment, in the transport cabin.
  • Transporting military supplies or other cargo weighing up to 1,500 kg internally. The Mi-35M is also fitted with an external sling system, expanding its cargo carrying capacity to 2,400 kg.
  • Medical uses include carrying the sick and injured along with medical personnel.
As can be seen, the Mi-35 is ideal for Counter Insurgency ops. Pakistan acquiring this weapon platform from Russia makes a lot of sense considering that it can be used very effectively in NW/FATA against the militants.

The point was mi-28n and a-129 mainly.

T-129 is also the best option, technologically speaking. AH-1Z beats T-129 in some respects but it will also be riddled with strings attached and no transfer of technology. Turkey is willing to provide TOT and to build a heli factory at PAC. The only issue is the LHTEC CTS800-4Aturboshaft engines are made in US, so they can still spoil the deal.

Why is Pakistan considering MI-28 from Russia? I think since General Raheel Sharif had such a successful visit to US...the matter of US engines would have been discussed and sorted out by now?

Ooops! I thought you were referring to the Mi-35 also, not just the Mi-28NE Night Hunter!

You've got a point there. Why buy two of the same kind - the Mi-28NE Night Hunter and the T-129.

.
Since Pakistan & Russia are already talking about MI28, there is no need for T129 & to be hones there is no comparison with Russian MI28. Pakistan should think about TAI's ANKA drone, both Turkey & Pakistan need to work together to make it a armed drone.

can you explain who is better appache 64 or mi 28 (above )
as we placed oreder for appache .. how you rate it ?

Apache, without a doubt is one of the best attack helicopter today. I would rate MI28 second best.

It's not going to happen, no matter how much successful the tour was US will not sell any good military hardware to Pakistan. Like that even Gen. Musharraf's tours to US was always successful but still US never sold anything major to Pakistan. The fact is Pakistan needs to look for none US defence hardware & Russia is the best option for Pakistan & second is China.

. .
is Pakistan Army looking to buy 2 types of Helis ?? some Mi-28 like 20-25 in numbers and rest T-129 from turkey to replace the Cobras with TOT...? I thinks they should go for Both and Mi-35 are for PNAF

The point was mi-28n and a-129 mainly.

The latter will likely be more nimble and technologically advanced..but the former regardless of weapons brings in very important advantage that is being considered.

The Mi-17 and it have the same baseline engine type. Engines that Ukraine and Russia both produce.. hence the idea of spares becomes easier as well.

It depends.. technologically, the AH-64E is way ahead as a weapons platform as compared to the Mi-28. However, the Mi-28s weapons fit is larger as the Apache is limited to either 16 anti tank missiles or 8 missiles and two 16 rocket pods. However, the Mi-28 can carry 16 anti tank missiles along with two 32 rocket pods.

Also, the Mi-28 is more survivable or rather its pilots have a greater change of living as compared to the Apache. That is because the Mi-28 along with the traditional counter measures allows its pilots to jump out of the aircraft via parachute. So if an Apache is going down, its pilots are along for the ride.. on the only hope that the apache's crash resistant body saves them.. more often than not.. it doesn't.

  • Turkish defense firms are working hard to deepen their partnership with Pakistan. Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) continues to heavily promote its T-129 attack helicopter. A memorandum of understanding was recently signed between TAI and the Pakistani government, but details are unavailable.

  • TAI also hopes to promote its Hurkus turboprop trainer. (local production?)

  • Software and electronics firms Aselsan and Havelsan, hopes to upgrade the Pakistan Navy’s ATR-72 patrol aircraft.

  • Long time collaborator Yonca-Onuk is also hoping to deepen its relationship with the Navy by offering its MRTP-34 and perhaps MRTP-45 vessels, and hopes to build its MRTP-64 at KSEW under a wide-ranging transfer of technology deal.

Well I would love if APC and IFV and Corvettes are also added and Pakistan should test Turkeys SP Artillery but first three will sooner or later be done

16 Anti Tank along with 32 rocket pods MI-28 is truly a monster by the way in morning on channels I saw the news that Pakistani high level delegation has met people in Washington to discuss defence deals any news ? @Oscar @Horus @fatman17

  • Mi-35 is only for SOTF
  • For AH-1S/F replacement there are four candidates.
    1: T-129 ATAK
    2: AH-1Z Viper
    3: Z-10 Thunderbolt
    4: Mi-28NE Havoc

Of the 4 choices for attack chopper in anti armor role, MI28 wins hands down.......no need for more USA concessions...and it is proven more than the Atak or Z-10.

Apache carries guided rockets as well while Russian rockets are totally unguided. Apache weaponry is matchless.
To match Apache, If Pakistan incorporate Chinese hell-fire equivalent missile HJ-09/10 and guided rocket system (if any) to Mi-28N that would turn it into a low cost matchless alternate, even better than Apache itself.

Buts that's highly unlikely :/

I believe PAF got the EWTTR from Turkey as well.....we can definitely learn a lot from a friendly NATO member....in BVR/EW/Tactics

apache

Carries more load (5000 kg+)and the mmv radar is fully functional ,,russian one is prototype just like a proposed chinese one.

Everyone....check this genius post.......because Pakistan might consider MI28....the Russian tech is just a prototype...but by the same logic PAKFA/T-50 prototype is state of the art Alien killer because India is considering the aircraft.

People like u are a blot here.
Its a proto and check that from anyone.

Similarly the radar of pakfa is a proto too,,so is pakfa itself,,,also it will be inferior to f-35 in EW and stealth both.Everyone knows that fact.

U need to be ashamed of ur posts..
