Fully indigenous BrahMos missile to be rolled out in three years

Russia does not have any production facilities there. How can u claim it is not made in India. Comeon, it should be some where. Russia does not use this missile for the very reason that it is not made by them and consider it against there policy to use imported weaponry.

Brahmos is a variant of the Yakhonts missile. So technically,the big brother of brahmos is manufactured in Russia.

In terms of design, its not indigenous. But India is trying to manufacture all the components in this missile. Recently, India have master the "high tech" steel needed to build this missile.

In my opinion, this is a waste of resources. No one build every single components any more. But India is still in the maturing process and feel the need to build everything itself to gain confidence. Its like a 5 year old child who must do everything themselves just to prove that he can do it.

There are Indian contribution like Avionics,Guidance,Warhead etc.So it is an Indo Russian Design.

And Maraging steel for building rocket motor casings have been developed a very long time before.

I think to be frank ,Indo-russian model which is downgraded in power compared to original. Mainly for export as Russia doesn't want its components codes in hands of enemy.

Downgraded in power?I dont think you know more about these projects.

Indian version had to comply with MTCR regulations,hence it is a shorter range variant.

But it is more advanced than the one its based on,it can perform,maneuvours like Supersonic dive.

Supersonic dive and other maneuvers is part of Klub,hypersonic Vulkan,bastel and the oniks system also... Even Moskit is reported to be capable of this ,though moskit has shorter range.

Russians already have developed one if I am right.The name is Kh-90 which is capable hypersonic missile with range of 3000 km and kh-80 with 5000 km range.Then there is Vulkan and zircel also upcoming.

India need more people with logic like you. Many Indians here believe that Russia give its best technology to India and so Brahmos is better than the original. They then wonder why Russia won't induct the weapon themselves. Some Indian politicians even ask Russia to induct them because they actually believe that Brahmos is better than the original.

Well whats there contribution in the development of that aircraft?Not even a single subsystem !!

And we have been developing our own fighters from the 60s,ever heard of HAL Marut?

And try comparing that with our Su 30 MKI,we have designed many of its avionics components,and it is manufactured in India including engines.

FYI...This is not JF-17.

India came up with the money but Russians designed it and build it then it was handed over to India for paint job with the label "Made In India". Since India paid for the cost , Indians claim that the missile is actually "indigenous".

This is not something done by Pakistan in case of mighty JF-17.
