Assad isnt Levantine nationalist tho, the folks in Lebanon are actually anti Syrian to the bone mainly the Phalangist types and they hate Assad

I take a holistic approach to Pakistani identity, I see it as a culmination of centuries of historic evolution by Allah swt of our Non-Muslim ancestors and Islam gave the final impetus for us to chart our own destiny and become a nation in our own right.

I 100% agree with you here. However our strongest currency with Afghans is religion in this day and age. We follow the same madhab and spirituality as them.

IVC and historic empires heritage can be added on top of that Islamic base.

Finally a sensible post out of you. The geographic Indus includes the surrounding mountains that drain into the Indus. This all of the Pakhun majority provinces of Afghanistan including Kabul ~ river Kabul drains into Indus near Attock. It includes all of Indian Punjab and Himachel Pradesh. All ethnic groups living within this basin, Sindhi, Pakhtun, Baloch, Punjabi, Kashmiri etc are scions of Indus. All share a common platform. This amalgam is basis of Pakistan as it forms 94% of the people. India, Iran, Afghanistan may share some threads but they have their own unique tapestries.

Religon always has profound effect on culture and history of a people. As a secularist I would openly accept this.

If people look at my DP it shows the Indus River Valley with a box. That 'box' includes the surrounding areas of Indus. Pakistan however is the defining state of the Indus Basin as it occupies the ground zero.
