What's new

French military base in Aleppo under construction

Then it is illegal and I guess you are not there to help them but to destabilize the region. Of course if you were to help Syiran govt against the ISIS, you will get blessings and support of the Syrian govt as the Russians did....Am I missing something here?
They are following the footsteps of the us. Do you know that the US already has a military base in Kobane (kurdish dominated area) in Northern Syria? Proof: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/02/02/middleeast/syria-isis-us-airstrip/

TIme to see how Turkey or Erdogan going to react. Will he do something new or call Turkey Ambassador back from France this time ?

This region was peaceful when it was under Ottomans, the sudden and fake lines that were drawn by British and French did nothing but create further conflict. And looks like they are back to create more fake lines from the older fake lines they created a hundred years ago.

Trying to give legal legitimacy to Kurdish enclaves, has nothing to do with ISIS. What is there to gain from investing heavily into the Kurds? They are used for several main reasons:

1. Sell Iraqi oil to Israel
2. Declare northern Syria Western territory, prevent Syria from functioning as a state, put pressure on regime
3. Use as playing card against Turkey, whenever migrant talks take place, or pressure regime change in Turkey
4. Use as military base against Iran & Hezbollah in the region
5. Everyone(Assyrian, Arab, Turkmen, etc....) culture gets destroyed, except the Kurds. There is no longer a 'Syrian people', the media pretends they don't exist. All Westerners know of are 'Kurdish people', and probably end up believing all Syrians are Kurds.

....
....

All the governments involved in this quagmire are playing very dirty games, it's just some are in better position to do so. There is no government that will arise to meet demands of the general people as a whole. The only people that came out of this slightly well, are the Egyptians IMO. Tunisia still has a way to go. Algeria managed to evade the whole thing. Saudi Arabia and Iran got further entrenched, Syrians broke down, Lebanese are on their heels, Palestinians going through drawn out status quo, etc....

Yeah right, you mean the creation of a ''great Kurdistan''.
Unfortunately for our ''allies'',we wont let that happen.

Who do you mean with 'We'.

Erdogan is the only voice from Turkey, he crushes all other voices and he's complaining without effect, he messed up.

Hmm considering that this news comes from Sputnik agency I'll wait another source to confirm that before taking it seriously.

Right against the sewer-rats called ISIS.

But with Syrian forces knocking on the door of Aleppo, what are the odds these operators will have to turn on the Syrian forces or Russian spetsnaz?

Pretty low, it is not in the interest of Syria nor Russia,
to pick a fight with the French, as long as they focus on ISIS.

Because regardless the territory is under the Syrian government's claim. Under International law you are trespassing.

NOPE. You are totally wrong. The UNSC,P5(including your Russian and Chinese patrons) and Untied nation members all voted for world powers to intervene in Syria against ISIS BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY. So any outside power intervening in the country is legitimate.:pop:

Don't mind them, they always blame all their ills on OTHERS.
No surprise there, we are already used to that.:pop:

If your dictator Assad had stepped down or flee just like Tunisia's president did then we wouldn't be here. :coffee: Power obssesed dictators who will rather destroy their country than cede power just like corrupt African dictators:coffee:

The region was peaceful after Ottomans conquered Memluks. Egyptian war is an Ottoman internal problem. Safavids are another issue, Turkey and İran never fought on a major battle since 1639 and the border stayed the same till today. If this is only thing you come with then yes the place was quite peaceful compared to post WWI.
