Good for you.. But neither France nor Europe in general can talk about morality or other idealist stuff..
I don't preach what I don't practise neither should anyone.
Gripes was never on the agenda to begin with... Even at that time Pak was evaluating Rafales.. They wanted 36 Rafales.. But than the massive earthquake (almost 100,000 people killed -- millions displaced) occurred which forced us to drop the idea and if that wasn't enough .. There were massive floods of biblical proportions that negligee quarter of the country..
Everything isn't so simple .. Where were religious terrorist outfitted in the past century? None of them existed ...
All of these bastards popped up after west destabilised the region.. From Taliban to ISIS .. They organisations roses up thanks to efforts from needless invasions and supporting them and against your enemies in the first place..
When you talk about the Iraqis rising up etc .. Do tell us what the average Iraqi can do against a heavily armed group lead by former Baathist military officers disbanded by US .. And a secterian regime supported by US that pretty much was the reason for the divisions in the Iraqi society..
Even now you are arming militant groups who would change sides with the blink of an eye.
The Kurds will have no problem creating trouble for Turkey.. The Shia militia and the Sunni groups neither.. And the reason for these divisions ? Invasions and destabilising a dictatorship that itself was legitimised by the west for their interests l.
And guess what ? Western weapons and even militants it once supported have joined Al Nusra and ISIS.. So whose to blame for arming military groups against a sovereign nation under the garb of so called Arab Spring ? Which died in Egypt,KSA,Bahrain and Qatar with US & western blessings ?
Which arms deals has US blocked? The Egyptians are still buying more Abrams and other stuff from USA .. Fighters ? Well their F-16 fleet is toothless with BVRs thanks to US's love for Israel.
Pak never thumps its chest over morality... We don't care we have to sell our stuff and we would sell it to Sierra Leone if we have too.. And there has been ZERO news about Pak offering Egyptians anything (from our officials),,,.
We aren't legitimising anybody .. In fact our parliament presented resolutions against the Egyptian dictatorship..
Neither do the Sissi need our pat on his back to appear legitimate rule of Egypt ..
Pakistan stated to the Swedish Government their interest in purchasing 40 Gripen.
Whether they were serious or not, is not what is of interest here.
The issue is that Sweden will not sell Gripen to Pakistan.
Egypt / F-16:
"President Barack Obama made the decision to hold up the F-16 delivery while the administration continues to review options and consult with Congress on military assistance generally," Pentagon press secretary George Little on Wednesday. He said the decision was made given the overall situation in Egypt."
This shows that Egypts Military did not ask/get "permission" from the U.S.
President Sadat was assassinated by a religious terrorist.
There were attacks on tourists in Egypt by religious terrorists.
Thailand has suffered from religious terrorists for over 50 years.
India has suffered from jihadists since 1948.
It is not news...
Certainly the former Baath officers in ISIS would have preferred to repress Iraqis
without the U.S. Army intervening.
The average Iraqi has much more chance to defend himself now, than under Saddams dictatorship.
The Shia leadership has indeed been sectarian, and they bear a lot of blame as well.
If selling weapons to Egypt is legitimizing the coup, then You are legitimizing the coup and we are not.
