French Barkhane force neutralizes more than 50 terrorists

Between the 9th and 17th of february,the French Barkhane force carried out several operations in Central Mali around the town of Mopti.

These actions resulted in the neutralization of more than 50 terrorists,the destruction of more than 30 vehicles and motorcycles and the capture of large quantities of weapons,phones and electronic equipments.

These operations were carried out in two phases. The first one took place between the 9th and the 10th northwest of Mopti. Strikes conducted by drones and Mirage 2000s,coupled with the use of attack helicopters have neutralized more than 20 fighters. Among them one senior commander of the islamic state in the greater sahara.

The second between the 16th and 17th south of Mopti where the katiba Macina is active. Airstrikes followed by an helicopter borne operation involving commandos led to the neutralization of more than 30 terrorists.

These two operations, with a heavy material and human toll, weaken the offensive potential of armed terrorist groups in this region.

There's a difference between tuareg groups (who BTW in many occasions allied with terrorist groups) and the likes of the islamic state in the greater sahara,JNIM,al qaeda etc. BTW,the French army isn't concentrating its efforts in the "Azawad" but in the south of the country and the three borders area.

It seems many forgot it,but i'll repeat it a 1,001 time,countries of the region asked for French military assistance,the reason you have thousands of French troops in the area.

It's very simple actually,they are there because the governments of the region want them to be there. If they want French troops to leave,France will redeploy its troops.

But they won't. Why ? Given how fragile their countries and their security forces are,a caliphate would be established within weeks. The small French presence (5,100 troops over an area the size of Europe) is the only reason they (terrorist groups) couldn't establish it.

The only ones "bombing houses and disrupting lives" are the terrorists many on this forum are openly or in subtile ways supporting. They are spreading havoc every single day in the region,randomly burning villages and killing people no matter what their race is,their religion is,their gender is.
