France's Beef With Islam

Thailand's Trouble with Islamists - TIME

But the Southeast Asian nation has another side it would rather visitors not see: an Islamic insurgency in the country's far south that has claimed more than 2,100 lives since 2004. On May 31, a dozen paramilitary rangers were killed in an ambush. The following weekend, two civilians were shot dead, and 20 soccer players were injured by an on-field bomb.

Myanmar:

I am not aware of any such issue in Myanmar. I know the Burmese junta routinely killed and tortured the Rohinga population. There are tens of thousands of these refugees in BD.

Muslims of Burma feel persecuted as well, & some of the reaction is coming out from that.

Philippines:

The Moro Rebellion is more than 100 year old issue in Philippines. Its more of a local issue.

But it is still Muslims at the forefront, & the issue is intensifying.

I do not want to offend anyone, & I'm sorry if I did, but the geopolitics is very evident.

Pan-Islamists will shift some of their focus from Asia (still maintaining influence over Central Asia) to the Middle East & North Africa, & will become a much bigger force there. Pan-Islamists will advance the US's geostrategic influence interests (of regime change) in the Middle East & North Africa. They will also provide the excuse for future interventions from foreign powers in the region (war against terrorism/extremism). The regions will be 'split' & marked by large sectarian & ethnic divides. Al Qaeda fighters & other extremist elements will 'flow from one country to another' during times of war. Liberals will call victories of the pan-Islamists 'justice to brutality', conservative Muslims will refer these as 'victories for Islam'.

Arab spring came because all arab leaders suppressed Islam and continued oppression on their people on the orders of west but when it started CIA tried to cash it in but they failed and now most countries have anti west governments and Islamic Rulers this will happen even in Pakistan if some secular traitors will try promote Secularism and speak against Islam

That can't be. I thought Allah was kind. Forcing Halal is not kind to animals and Allah should be looking after not only humans!

The topic is on France! And you are diverting the whole topic as global!! :hitwall: :hitwall: :hitwall: :hitwall:

Yes, I did admit there are extremists. And they faced the justice they deserve. And I felt very sad when 7/7 happened, especially considering a British girl of Bangladeshi decent died there.

But let's not paint them with a broad brush as if there's an exponential increase extremists throughout the UK and the rest of Europe. There are plenty of British Muslims who make good role models.

And as far as Thailand go, please understand that Thai Muslims are represented positively throughout the Thai media and do not face prejudice unlike countries like France. The problems in South of Thailand are rooted since 100 years ago when the Thai Kingdom annexed Pattani. But the events and historical problems are largely inconsequential. Nothing extreme over there. Even before the problems in the South, one Thai MP recommended the use of pork spray during the campaign in Afghanistan. The guy was kicked out of parliament immediately.

In France, it is generally hard for people from different ethnic and religious backgrounds to integrate relative to integrating in American society. Ask Hussien if you don't believe. It's all politics.

Yaar, Bilal, now we're not going to start eating Haraam, period. Duniya idhar se udhar hojaye.

I have traveled pretty extensively to Asia Pacific, as well as Europe, Middle East & Africa; so I am pretty well read on the history of the regions. I also know how Muslims are faring generally, & I worry about their future. I understand it's politics, but I see them as being used as geopolitical pawns in the future all over. Things are not as bad in the Asia Pacific, Europe than what they are in the Middle East & Africa, but the way international politics is going, I won't be surprised if the situation get worse there in the future.

France's Beef With Islam

The French, as no one really needs to be reminded, take their food pretty seriously. So perhaps it shouldn't have been shocking that recent revelations that the country's halal butchers have been quietly selling their surplus to non-halal distributors has emerged as a hot-button presidential campaign issue at a time when candidates might be expected to focus more on unemployment or the spiraling European economic crisis.

Dear members,

Before going Ape-**** over this News,Read the first paragraph carefully.French have a problem with Halal meat distributors selling their surplus to non-Halal meat distributors not with muslims taking halal meat, which a sensitive person could construct as Fraud.

There is nothing "extremist" about eating halal meat or wearing a headscarf.

This was nowhere inferred in the report.

You are not uncomfortable with a women dressed like that you are paranoid because you absolutely have no clue about basic & fundamental rights of an individual. Prejudice against muslims is historical and is growing not because 1% of Muslim women in France like to wear Burqa , but because they are genuinely ill informed about Islam and do not want to recognize their rights.

When you say that Muslims are the root cause of the Islamophobia then i must say it defies common sense and logic. Its like saying that Racism against blacks is out there because they are black !

And one should remember that France is a Secular-Christian majority country and follows principle of Laïcité.

Laïcité - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A debate took place over whether any religious apparel or displays by individuals, such as the Islamic hijab, Sikh turban, (large) Christian crosses and Jewish Stars of David, should be banned from public schools. Such a ban came into effect in France in 2004; see French law on secularity and conspicuous religious symbols in schools.

If Christians in France are not allowed to wear Cross in Public places,Muslims have no moral authority to demand right to wear Hijab in public places.

Yaar, Bilal, now we're not going to start eating Haraam, period. Duniya idhar se udhar hojaye.

Did I ask anyone to eat haraam? I am a practicing Muslim myself, I not only eat "Halal" food, but Zabiha & Halal food. I lived in the US for 10 years, stopped eating meat completely (besides fish), & practically became a vegan.

.
Thats because there are no Christians living in Saudi Arabia , so its effectively unnecessary. What would you do with a church when there is no Christians to go to ?

Its not forbidden in Saudi Arabia to build Churches.

A Church in Saudi Arabia? - TIME

You are either ignorant or lying. Saudi Arabia has about 800,000 Christians according to the article you have posted. They have more than 500,000 Hindus too. They just don't allow any other worship place other than mosques. But if you are ashamed of it, its a good sign. Kudos to Bilal for speaking his mind without caring about the Indians present.

Things in the Asia Pacific region will remain stable regardless of what happens in the Middle East and Africa. I've lived in Thailand for 12 years myself and had a hell of a time there.

Europe? Well, I don't see how things are going to get worse due to international politics. Any US president wanting to send an army into any Middle Eastern, Asian or African country seriously need to get his head checked.

Whatever crap is going on in France is internal.

Jonathon Swift is one the legendary satirist. I had his 'Gulliver's Travells: A voyage to Lilliput' as part of English studies The issue in this tale is how those guys in the tale were waging wars based on how one should crack an egg. He wrote this classic almost 300 years ago.

Now we are talking about halal meat in a major election. Somehow politics never changes for the better !!

P.S

There is another awesome work " A modest proposal" by him.

the woman can be totally nude in public but cant be totally covered

.
Yaar, Bilal, now we're not going to start eating Haraam, period. Duniya idhar se udhar hojaye.

Why not. Seems like you have ur definition of haram and halal mixed up. Torturing an animal to death and eating is more haram.

Why is always rest of the world Vs Islam. Burkha, extremism, womans right, democracy, way of living all issues seem to be contentious when it comes to islam. Is there a chance that religion itself needs some introspection to evolve. Gone are the days when a woman needed to covered in drapes to save her from the evil eye of the man.

Very insightful remark. Another point to note. Why is it that most major conflicts involve Muslims either on one side or both? A grand conspiracy by the west? ;)
