If by the treaty, NATO gets involved in which turkey is a full member then it would be selfishness to say the least since the ''moral duty'' wasnt invoked then Turkey was bombed not just onces but twice, and the culprits were said to be the same people or Kurds whom America supports. To be honest it only looks like clash of interests rather then ''moral duty'' or treaty.The Lisbon treaty is about EU members.EU members are not obliged to help everyone out there but they have to help other EU members by treaty.
Not that a treaty should make a EU member help another one after a tragedy like Paris,it is also a moral duty.
Key word here is NATO and interests as well as intent.
