Musharraf sidelined his CGS, his whole staff when they vehemently told him to NOT cede any bases. They (including Aziz who was CGS <from which he retired in 2003> and then a core commander at that time I believe but not limited to just Aziz) told him repeatedly that DO NOT do this, we can do without it, WE CAN OPPOSE THEM ON THIS. He wouldn't listen, that's the short and simple of it. This apparently happened in the Core commanders meeting.

I mean Aziz was DG Military Operations Directorate when you guys went nuclear, he was the man guarding it, how more trustworthy can a guy get when he's the one standing guard over your crown jewels.

BS sources... there are no more bases under us control as of now.

Chaklala air base(Pak army),quetta(PAF),tarbela(SSG),Jacobabad only has us airforce crew to look after f-16s,peshwar (PAF).

I posted the link for the evacuation itself, but it was used from 2001 to 2011 by the US, 10 years in which they used it for drone ops while US drones dropped bombs in Pakistan itself. In fact US was given control defacto on 20th October 2001. On 4th December 2011 it was finally evacuated and drone ops had stopped only in April that year- confirmed by Air Chief Marshal Rao Qamar Suleman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force.
