The heat of Indians claiming "secret retaliation"? Which makes no logical sense, since retaliation has no effect unless they know you did it.

Otherwise it will just be seen as another random crime. And no one will know you even retaliated at all.

But getting serious, why would an SSG squad go and do this? WHY O WHY?

We have enough problems of our own at the moment...Indians like to do warmongering all the time and drawing out battle plans on TV against Pakistan, but we are not focusing on India at the moment.

This is exactly what Indian Army generals tell their 10 yr old fanboys after these poonch kinds of attacks to help soothe their feelings.

India doesnt support TTP. India cant.

Retaliation or any counter action ( or action for that matter) does NOT have to be physical or visible. Take your mind to what the US did to USSR. They did not attack each other though they were forever prepared for it. They too forever had a " Spy Vs Spy' thing going on. US engaged the USSR on multi planes - Military was only one among them. Making your adversary spend disproportionately to stay abreast with you is one of them. The USSR finally imploded & collapsed under its own weight.

Once again, do not extrapolate this in an Indo - Pak context but appreciate the fact that nations play games at much higher levels than its citizens can see.

USA was far away from USSR and hence can play such dirty games. Do you feel the same about India. You like in a house made of glass in a very volatile region.

But if it is a "secret retaliation"... then it has NO deterrence effect, since nobody even knew you did it.

The whole world will see it as India not retaliating at all. And rather than being a deterrent, people will think India lacks the capability or the willpower to retaliate, like after the Chumar incident.

the powers that be are fully aware on who is doing what. it is a constant game of tit-for-tat.
deterrence isn't the objective here, it is more of a oneupmanship. with no end in sight.

True. Even I never had the courage to take credit for any terror attack inside India against civilians on this forum despite my dislike for India. But then again in desperation even a terrorist becomes a freedom fighter an a hero just like in this case.

Fair enough. Apparently you think you have forced Pakistan to spend more on their defense hence it is some kind of retaliation from you. For us I don' think we are spending extraordinarily or something extra. We are spending according to our budget that was passed by our parliament.
