Pretty unexpected but pleasantly surprising news! The Dassualt upgraded IAF Mirages were only handed over to the IAF last year so pretty swift work by HAL, good job by both sides.

By when will the entire fleet be upgraded?

By 2019.

Also what's the status of MiG 29 upgrades?

On going but (as usual) the Russian side is causing delays, the entire fleet is still another 4-5 years away from being fully upgraded despite starting a long time ago.

Only 48 Mirage 2000s are left. Few were broken down for spares because our beaurocracy meant we cannot even order spare a for them .

The upgrade package includes full through life support so the entire fleet will be upgraded and made operational.

India is ordering 164 Litening 2 targeting pods from Israel's Rafael for the upgraded Mirages, as well as for Su-30 MKIs
