Guys,I've been googling this question for 2 weeks now. A nephew of mine, early 30s,UK citizen with an Econ degree has finally decided on a career change. Engineering was always his passion and his teachers encouraged him to follow this path as he had the skillsets but his dad (SIGHHH,parents!) who broke into our 1% here in Nairobi due to banking put his foot down and forced him into the finance world.
After a decade and a half of unhappiness and stress he's beyond dad's control and wants to venture into engineering, specifically firearms manufacture. I've searched and noticed only US schools, online offering gun smithing, meaning repair, modification and modification but NOT ACTUAL MANUFACTURE.
Strangely, its only Europe which seems to have what we're looking for:
St.Etienne,France https://benoit-fourneyron.ent.auver...-de-la-filiere-armurerie/cap-armurerie-1-an-/
Ferlach,Austria

Liege,Belgium

Thuringia,Germany
http://buechsenmacher-ausbildung-suhl.de/
All these schools offer 4 year diploma courses involving autocad, lathes,CNCs etc,etc and internships at serious players like FN,Glock or smaller Euro makers like Manurhin whose .357 revolvers last up to 50,000 rounds twice the lifespan of Colt or S&W!?
Some say, ideally you'd enter firearms production with an engineering background thereby understanding all the processes involved-that's not an option for us. Imo,these schools are excellent, especially the Austrian,Belgian and French schools.
Question:is any uni offering a degree course anywhere in firearms technology?
