Fifth-gen fighter: India asks Russia to resolve tech-sharing, costing

Future 5th gen export would be completely under the domination of F35 . They are aiming for export success like
F16

Because F16 operators are more likely to have enough funds to operate expensive stealth fighters, while countries that operated Mig 29s or Su 30s will have problems to operate such fighters, especially heavy class stealth fighters.

So it's already great share in the project. I don't understand what's exactly Indian side wants :-)

It's not fixed yet and Russia will bargain hard to remain with as many Russian parts as possible, because once it means work for the Russian industry and secondly it will reduce the costs of the parts and spares for Russian orders.

We need to be hard with the Russians

You want 5 billion dollars of indis.s money then you show us 50% of the technology abd we take a cut of any profits when pak fa is exported.

Otherwise they can find a new multi billion dollar arms buyer.

we just want you tricky russians not to sell everything same you selling to Indians underhand to chinese :(,
latest cx-1 supersonic cruise missile is a fine example of that, shameless chinese didn't even changed the placement of fins on the missile, you guys probably sold not only tech. but also the test data

MCA/AMCA which you saw in 2006 basically was twin engined 4 ++ Fighter aircraft which later became (2010) aircraft with Low visibility and in 2013 it became Stealth Fighter , it has evolved from MCA to MCA+ to AMCA over the years and IAF still not accepted Technical flexibility report for ADA to start work on prototype .
so who is at fault here ?

its like a coustmour bragging and abusing a shopkeaper for not giving him the right stuff when he himself is confused as to what he wants to buy

I don't know exactly about this project, but you should know that the China is one of the main buyer of our weapons and we have a joint projects with China too.

well the era is coming when russian weapons will soon lag behind that of china and in future India. China in a decade and India in couple of decade.

Actually it no body at fault , because MCA was concept after LCA flew but since technology was still under development MCA was not priority and know one wanted to start work on MCA , but then IAF wanted MK-2 around same time , so again MCA was in back burner , later ADA came with new Concept of MCA + which involved Lower Radar visibility but world had moved to 5th gen technology by then , again AMCA was born . Technology is ever evolving and breaks can have adverse effect , if we had continued our development after HF-24 , we could have taken lesser time to develop 4th generation fighters .

MKIs are replacing the Mig 23s and even most of the Mig 27s, for the rest:

IAF fighter strength to dip further | Page 2

The export chances of a 5th gen fighter are reduced anyway because of the high procurement and maintenance costs compared to current gen fighters, so there won't be that many countries that will be able to afford it. But to reduce the costs, secure cost-effective upgrades and interest of foreign countries, they surely need us with the MKI experience.

You are assuming LCA mk2 will come into service when it does not even exist now.

It's over optimistic

Wait and see. In the next few years, Russia will begin mass deliveries of weapons of the new generation to the army. And then it turns out that China and India are not as close to the level of Russia, as it seemed in 2010.

the type of tech.<s-300/400/,Su-35> you are selling to chinese, even the tech. you are in JV<brahmos> with India<mi-35 to pakistan?) will certainly in future hurt you when chinese will cross you and Indians stop doing business with you.
and what kind of new weapon systems you will add in next few years? s-500? chinese will buy s-400 and reverse engineer almost matching specs of s-500 rest home grown stealth fighters will be fielded by many countries in few years to come.
I dont see russians with lagging economy to match bigger countries in future.
