Fifth-gen fighter: India asks Russia to resolve tech-sharing, costing

Still that may not be enough. Seeing as Pakfa might take longer than expected. Lets just hope the russians can speed things up.

Which also is the reason why IAF went with the safe option to add another batch to the production line to replace Mig 27UPGs, which otherwise were planned to be operated until FGFA arrives. And even if the last prototype would come later as 2019, we would have M-MRCA and (most likely) LCA MK2 in production by then, so can already go for an alternative to Russian fighters.

18 MONTHS AGO I was dead against MMRCA SUGGESTING that IAF could not manager 2 massive fighter programmes of $25 billion each at the same time. Back in 2012 I assumed by now that LCA will be in production and on its wat to completing 200 fighters by 2025. In addition ASSUMED PAK FA would be ready for induction by 2020.

Both of these will not happen FGFA will come if at all AFTER 2025 and I don't trust the RUSSIANS anymore

SUDDENLY the Rafale MMRCA seems the perfect solution. between 2015-2025 = 10 YEARS

1. State of the art until 2025 WHEN MANY NATIONS WILL HAVE received their F35/J31 by then.
2. Gap filler for falling nos
3. hi end TOT for late 4th generation fighters useful for LCA MK2/3 & DRONES
4. best strike capability in the world outside of USA.
5. Meteore BVR with French AESA RADARS

Regardless of COST RAFALE has to happen now

LCA mk2?

Let LCA mk1 development finish atleast. Mid-air refuel, BVR etc are still pending.

Also SP-1 is nothing more than wings attached to fuselage. Weapons test, high altitude test ,mach 1,5~ tests etc are pending.

The first squadron of tejas if it can be called a squadron will essentially be based at hal labs and testing grounds.

The FOC mk1 which is expected to based at sulur is unlikely to be even manufactured till 2018-19.

Production capacity is 4 tejas pa.

Rafale mmrca is not only the need of the hour but its needed in larger nos to fill the gap. 126 needs to be upped to 189. To hell with the cost we need to have to air force intact.

Why don't you start it. Sell you car home and jewellery. Send that money to pmo. Also write where you want to spend it.

we just want you tricky russians not to sell everything same you selling to Indians underhand to chinese :(,
latest cx-1 supersonic cruise missile is a fine example of that, shameless chinese didn't even changed the placement of fins on the missile, you guys probably sold not only tech. but also the test data

Don't worry next Russia will share the technologies of your FGFA to China  and India will be forced to cooperate more with Russia in order to access better stuffs such 6 gen. fighter...indeed CX-1 is just a fine example and why we bother to change the placement of the fins, we don't have any legal obligation to do so..LMAO ..and as matter of fact, we got all Brahmos test data include the signal frequency that used to control the missile so if we ever encounter Indian Navy, we could desactivate and neutralize it. :dance3:

Russians have already spent the money on developing PAKFA. They only need us to "buy" stuff from them.

Why are people so desperate for F-35 ? I just don't get it.

Its Indian Navy which wants the F-35....it will be a good replacement for the Navy's Sea Harrier.

Its Indian Navy which wants the F-35....it will be a good replacement for the Navy's Sea Harrier.
The problem is that the carrier-variant of F-35, the F-35C, is the most expensive of all F-35 variants as of right now at 130 million per plane. That price is expected to drop to 95 million by 2019. If India is gonna buy the F-35C for its carriers it should wait until the price drops.

Production start in 2019 is the official plan.

If the official claim is 2019....add 5 year to it...and now you have a 50% chance. The most likely year for series production of MK2 will be 2022.

well the era is coming when russian weapons will soon lag behind that of china and in future India. China in a decade and India in couple of decade.

Please don't bragg about China, Russia still lead ahead of China in most high tech aspect, only few Chinese military fan boys will make such claims as we have already exceded Russia. But anyway if you Indian think that you will excede Russia in couple of decade than good for you.

Lol signal frequency haha that shows ur knowledge abt military tech., brahmose has plenty of redundant navigation systems, if smhow gps, glonass or even upcoming indian navigation system is taken down ins will surely fkuc up chinese ships, and regarding russians sharing same tech with chinese I am pretty sure chinese wont be getting the same goodies as russia will always throw degraded tech at u coz they r ur neighbors, and regarding chinese over taking russian tech in a decade that seems only possible if russians share everythin thy have with chinese which seems to have half half chances, i no brag u chinaman on china i was just tellin my russian frnd wat happens when u play these double games with india and china, arrogant han dont put ur ignorance at show here shooooo

better to scrap lca failure and transfer funds to mmrca.
also scrap saras failure project transfer funds to mmrca
also scrap amca wet dream project transfer funds to mmrca

also scrap IAF and hand over security to Russia and France.

If LCA project is given continued support the IAF will soon be a redundant force.

Its the need of the hour to stabilise and build up squadron strength NOT to promote failed indigenous widow makers and learn from these failed projects to have more failed projects in the future
