Facing China threat, Vietnam seeks American balance

Vietnam was ruled by China for 1,000 years, and France, Japan and Britain all controlled Vietnam. Japanese also never ruled China. They overran less than 25% of China in World War 2, and less than 10% of China in the First Sino Japanese war.

Countries defeat each other all the time. Germany flattened the armies of other european countries during world war 2, combined, all those countries were all bigger than Germany in both area and population. Germany also killed over 25 million Soviets during World War 2 and overran most of their populated area and reached Moscow. They were only beaten back with American aid to the Soviets. The Soviet Union was over ten times Germanys sizes and bigger in population.

Also keep humiliating yourself because you know nothing about history. Majority of Mongol army was NON MONGOL. The Mongols used northern Chinese infantry, Alan cavalry, Iraqi engineers and people from all over their empire.

Japanese never ruled China. good joke. :omghaha:

With out Victory of Soviet Union on Guan Dong Army of Japan and two nuke of USA on Japan 1945, you chinese speak Japanese now, luckyly you can writing Japanese character very easy. :D

The puppet slave Emperor of Vietnam was not supposed to be subjugated to another people. EMPEROR? Get it? Your emperor was wiping the shoes of the French while the French were putting down Vietnamese peasants rebellions and massacring Vietnamese.
and China? Chiang Kai-shek sacrified 1 million of Chinese lives by destroying the Yellow River dam in 1938. But he failed to halt the rapid advance of the Japanese forces. What a tragedy!

Vietnam is the country which was occupied by France, Japan, Republic of China, Britain all in succession and its calling other people slaves. :omghaha: it received massive help from Communist bloc countries during its wars with France and America and would never have won without that help.
At the end of the day, all got spanked and kicked out of Vietnam. :D

surrender of French troops (1954)
Germany controlled most populated regions of the Soviet Union during the war and without American help they would be slaves to Germany. The Red Army attacked China twice, first in 1937 then in 1944 again in the Ili Rebellion while China was in the middle of fighting Japan. I don't know if attacking other countries counts as help in your twisted way of thinking.
The Red Army defeated the Japanese army in the battle of Manchuria (1945). Do you think China could fight against 1 Milion man strong Japanese army? No way.

The Soviet Union attacked China twice during the war. In the second attack, China had to divert 100,000 soldiers to fight against the Red Army

Ili Rebellion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During the Japanese invasion, China did not even send all its soldiers to fight the Japanese. During the 1937 Soviet attack on China the entire province of Xinjiang came under control of the pro Soviet Governor Sheng Shicai, with a Soviet division stationed at Kumul. China diverted massive amounts of elite troops and Muslim cavalry to infiltrate Xinjiang and force the Soviets to withdraw an entire division stationed in Kumul (Xinjiang) and make them leave the province.

And thats not it, China also was sending soldiers and officials near the Tibetan border to infiltrate tibet and reincorporate it into China.

Tens of thousands of elite soldiers and Muslim cavalry under Generals Ma Bufang and Ma Buqing were diverted into Xinjiang and the Tibetan border during the war.

Chiang Kai-shek also funded pro China Khamba rebels and sent secret agents to help them infiltrate Tibet and subvert the Dalai Lama

China felt so secure in its position during the war and was so assured that Japan would never take over China that it diverted all of these soldiers to wrest Xinjiang from the Soviet Union and infiltrate Tibet instead of using them for a new offensive against Japan, because by 1940 the war settled into a stalemate. Japan made no significant advances after 1940 from the coastal regions in the northeast. The only significant advance they made after 1940 was during Operation Ichigo in 1944 while China was being attacked by the Soviets in the Ili rebellion, and after that they made no more advances.

And during the Mongol Invasion, the Song dynasty first helped the Mongols defeat the Jin dynasty in northern China. Without their help, the Mongols would not have conquered the Jin in northern China. The Mongols then acquired tens of thousands of northern Chinese soldiers, engineers, bomb makers and trebuchets, including Generals like Guo Kan who helped them conquer central asia, russia, iran, and the Abbasids within a few years, and then attack the Song dynasty and even with the help of hundreds of thousands of northern Chinese, Alan, Iraqi, Persian, central asian and other soldiers, generals, and engineers and resources from all over their empire, it took forty five years to conquer Song China.

Japan occupied 5 million square kilometers of Chinese land :omghaha:

Source?

The entire modern China is 9,706,961 square kilometers. According to your bullshit figure, all of China except Xinjiang, Qinghai and Tibet would have been overrun. All of the southwestern and northwestern provinces in China proper were never controled by Japan.

Viet Nam seek US for balancing China that is normal and smart move, even if its shake hands with Russia also good too and here are some simple questions for you Chinese member:

1. Why US needs allies, isn't it already a super power country?

2. Why US needs NATO and also a member of NATO organization?

So does Viet Nam will loose faces when its seek another super power country to balancing counter of China?

Nope. The only thing the Soviets did was take over Manchuria and promptly LOOT all industrial equipment, plumbing, wires and toilets. They also killed and raped many civilians just like the Japanese did.

Soviet invasion of Manchuria - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I said it already. China did not dislodge Japan from occupued territory because it was fighting the Soviet Union in Xinjiang in the Ili Rebellion and infiltrating Tibet. It was liberating territory from the Soviets.

China was fighting two massive armies with industries a hundred times bigger than China, and it forced both of them to halt their advances, the Sovies could not advance beyond Ili and the Japanese were stuck at the liens it reached at Operation Ichigo. THEIR goals were to take over the entire China (Japan) or the entire Xinjiang (the Soviet Union), and THEY FAILED. JAPAN SAID its goal was to "liberate" the entire China from the KMT and it never accomplished it, even without America's atomic bomb and the Soviet Invasion, they were not going anywhere.
