What's new

F-7P and F-7PG

It’s just matter of how many airframe hours are left not if they can use for x or y

T

They served very well over the period of time, specifically when every option was cloased on us, it was them who fillout the gap
I personally like f-7pg don't know why

always wonder the pg upgrade could have been applied to mig21bis that could have made this an excellent fighter. By the time paf got interesting it by late 90s china had f-7d that could be used as a base platform to apply f-7pg upgrade. Just my imagination

F-7PG's will still solider on for some time but will be replaced by thunders eventually.

Instead of retiring...convert them to drones for one way trip 😁
that's actually a very good idea...it'll show up as a jet fighter on their radars but will be used as a surface to surface missile and the enemy wouldn't know it, hence they'll respond with jet fighters trying to chase it instead of responding with surface to surface missiles of their own. they'll never know that it has a nuke inside it; a very sneaky and effective way of catching the enemy off guard and preempting them.

They will know within the first few what they really are as they will get intercepted. Won't be very sneaky and I think normal cruise missiles would be more useful in that regard. Also IAF will claim shooting down PAF jets and we will have some IAF "Aces" born out of this lol.

remote fly em low below the radar close to the ground clutter.

Or use that money and time to develop better cruise missiles instead...that you can manufacture in 100s or 1000s instead of wasting time trying to make token number of jets into some sort of kamikaze drones.

PG are not going any where any time soon. They are a great fighter for the role that they are intended for.
The basic difference between a PG and a bison is the redesigning of the ac structure, ie the double cranked delta wings.
Going by that PG is a different plane compared to a mig 21, which a bison basically is.
Which give the PG better averall handling and maneuverability characteristics as compared to the bison.
That feature alone the bison cannot replicate
