Almost all Turkish F-16 are block 40/50 what MLU do u want there?
See,the Israeli's are better negotiators.
Without being in the program, they get what they want.
We want to,thats why it takes so long.^ How about us, are we able/interested to integrate our own stuff as well?
Thanks for the informative answer btw!
Turkey never had any A/B. They have some 40 block 30, 15 block 50+. All the rest are block 40/50.Really ?
I didn't know that; I had imagined that for a country that started procuring F-16s in the '80s they'd have a healthy number of A/Bs or earlier Blocks of the C/D !
No,what difference does it make when they finance hundreds of bilions for the program and we only buy 116 or not?We should be able to put some pressure too. Just tell them that we are considering another option instead of the JSF... no?

They dont need us.
Check this out, then tell me if it would matter.Come on brother, 116 planes equals a lot of money - it should at least make them consider our request Pulling ourselves out of the program would increase the unit cost, which even could make other customers reconsider their choice.
and @Aegis DDG
The number @500 said are the ones built in Turkey. Currently there are 270 jets with 110 of them being block 50 or 50+. Block 50 variants were delivered under Peace Onyx II, III and IV. Here's the source you can see the numbers and variants ordered under PO II, III and IV.

Then why haven't the Block 15s, the Block 30/40s been upgraded to the Block 50/52 level as we had ours upgraded which are comparable to our Block 52s in everything except the range or the payload because an MLU can't reinvent an aircraft !
What do you mean by,paid for our F-16s?Arabs (Saudia Arabia,UAE,Kuwait) paid for turkish F16's.Now this is a surprise.

[In March of 1992, a follow-on order for two batches of 40 block 50 F-16C/D's (68 C's and 12 D's) was placed under thePeace Onyx II FMS program. The funding of the first 40 planes will be met primarily by Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the Emirates./QUOTE]
