Exclusive: U.S. moves to cut Huawei off from global chip suppliers

Where did I said that? You have a readiing comprehension problem. But then again, we can chalk it up to your ignorance about business and manufacturing in general for that misconception.

He said Huawei's foreign market will collapse, which is true. He wasn't talking about its domestic market, however, that will be impacted too if Huawei can't produce competitive phones.
Huawei received much more 5G oversea contracts than any competitor. And 5G equipment don't need smallest chips. 14nm is good enough.

Did I say that %90? No, I did not.

But it is irrelevant. You are focusing on meaningless minutiae. Even if the revenue loss is %50, Huawei's foreign markets will be crippled, if not outright collapse. China's current technological success are mostly foreign sourced, even to today, and China's current economic success are also dependent on foreign consumption. The loss or decline of a major contributor like Huawei will produce national shock waves.

We will see how Huawei adjusts to these escalating attacks and technological isolation in the years to come.

Dream on it. I'll tell you why made in China is so competitive. 1)Every year there are huge number of STEM graduates joining in China's labor force. The number is so huge that it's bigger than US+EU+Japan+S.Korea STEM graduates combined. Except China, no other country can supply enough researchers and engineers. China is irreplaceable in this regard. 2) Based on this big number of engineers/researchers/skilled workers dividends, industrial clusterings came to be fulfiled in China. Which remarkably reduce cost for all products.

China's foreign markets will not be crippled whatsoever. The invisible hand is much more powerful than America government orders. The competition between China and US is eventually competition between Chinese people and American people. Chinese are good at STEM. Americans unfortunately are in an anti-intellectual society.

Dream on it.
The difference between you guys and I is that I do not dream, and the reason I do not dream is because I am actually in the industry that underpins China's economic and technological successes. Pretty much on a daily basis, I sees things about the semicon industry that most do not. Things that do not manifest themselves in the market until yrs later but whose current estimated effects are above the 50/50 confidence threshold, and because of that confidence, economic plans are being formulated. I gave you one tiny bit of 'insider' information, albeit a technical one, as a warning of what is to come. I suggest you wake up as it is you guys who are dreaming.

Trump should hire you as his advisor then. Why he hasn't yet?

this is the most bull shit response anyone can give when they've basically lost the argument.
What can I say? He said he is the one"actually in the industry that underpins China's economic and technological successes. " I don't know US has that weapon of mass destruction.

Not really. For China to respond proportionally and get dragged into a fight with the US at this time would be absolutely stupid strategically. This move by the US only highlights China's biggest weakness, which is its weakness in semiconductors. If China were to escalate tensions with the US right now, it would only damage itself and isolate itself regardless of what the outcome is. This would destroy its economic development. China's best bet is really to go into war footing and pour tens of billions into building an advanced domestic semiconductor industry and also next generation technologies.
Why would China's economy get destroyed? At most we can't sell higher end phones, ya think basestation uses 5nm chips? That's the difference between a real superpower and smaller countries, you seriously think our economy is only about selling goods to Americans? We consume produce and innovate, if you take away the US paper printing casino economy, China is the largest economy in real terms. Life is not just about appeasing US like other puny states, its about independence.

There is nothing you can say. You can take what I said to any logistics specialist and other than the details, everything I said about supply chain are true in principles.

We do. And your China knows it.

China cannot afford to appear weak in front of her own citizens. Even though the Party controls China's intranet, news inevitably will get through and if China is perceived as weak in front of hundreds of millions of Chinese, discontent will appear. That is why China is being aggressive on the diplomatic front and threatening everyone in sight. In the end, China's intimidation will not work and Party leaders knows it.

As far as the semicon industry go, all current contracts in/for China will be honored, but Western CEOs are justifiably frightened, and I have no problems using that word, of what China did, and further involvement in China are being reassessed all over. That Intel fab in Dalian? Intel's leadership is talking under the table and behind closed doors on writing off that facility in the event that China seize it. They believe it. And other Western companies that have assets in China are beginning to see the Chinese government for what it is -- a kleptocracy.

That's the USA.
And the USA is the one who started the fight, not China. Chinese people are just retaliating.

Actually, China has very little soft power. China has been notoriously incompetent when it comes to soft power. What China has is hard power and that's about all it has.

China will survive this. But it will be hurt hard by the US, there is no doubt about it.

Sure.
Trump only needs to sign an executive order. Here is the text I formulate for him (just copy and paste):

“herewith I - Donald Trump, the President of the United States, order the use of USD in China is forbidden with immediate effect. Every transaction in USD is forbidden in mainland China, HK and Macau.

Every entity, be either chinese or foreign, that acts against this president executive order will be subject of sanctions.”

.
It is more of US intimidation, while China trying to make a deal.

As for seizing foreign asset, the CPC did once in 1949 -- rightfully so.

US and west have been the biggest thieve of foreign asset, confiscating Venezuela, Iran, Iraq...etc

it is very unlikely that Intel Dalian gets seized. it isn't the only NAND fab in China and doesn't even hurt Intel since that plant isn't making much money. the reputation losses are worth far more than the plant.

I think Intel is going to exit memory altogether within a few years and sell the plant anyhow.
