Erdogan says Greek islands ‘used to be ours’

.
The deal will never collapse. After all said and done, the EU has Turkish economy in its hands so it will pull the strings it needs.Erdogan will scream, but in the end, after huffing and puffing he will obey and do what he's ordered, or face economic disaster and famine in Turkey. All the talk you see now is just him trying to save face but Bruxelles has all the cards.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Heights of delusions by poor, dying Europeans whose women are increasingly getting f*cked by foreigners now--as their population declines and becomes more "multicultural" with literally mass influences of foreign cultures and peoples.

Erdogan bowing to EU? Dumbo, the reason Visa deal didn't go through was because it was Erdogan who showed middle finger to Europe and went ahead with his strict anti-terrorism policies and wars. Tell me, what 'strategic' interest Turkey will have to go for Visa free travel to EU? Not much.

What Turkey wants is power, role in the region, and economic prosperity. And that is what Turkey is getting that. Hell, Turkey is also getting billions from EU to "take care" of refugees in Turkey!

But EU has the magic wand to bring femine in Turkey. What a joke.

Turkey is the 5th largest trading partner of EU, and is on path to become the third largest crossing Russia (thanks to TANAP and other energy lines being constructed).

Turkey is in the league of big boys of Europe (Four big boys: Turkey, Germany, France, UK). It's funny to see romanians and italians here trying to self masturbate with words.

Turkey is already in the league of global second-tier powers (step below great powers like U.S, China, Saudi Arabia etc) according to YALE's international relations experts' annual list of Great powers and second-tier powers who are aspiring great powers (Currently there are 8 great powers of Earth--U.S, Russia, China, Japan, India, Germany, Saudi Arabia, and post-sanctioned Iran)...France, UK, and Turkey come under second-tier great powers (along with countries like Brazil etc).

But yeah, EU will take away Turkey's food and make Erdogan beg for mercy in dreams of a romanian and italian peasants :lol::lol::lol:

.
The moment Turkey comment Is Nato, these islands will be under Turkish rule again. That's why they'll never let us go, even if the majority in Turkey would want to exit NATO. However, this conflict is very important for us. It is one of our tools to influence Europe thanks to the fact that the Euro Zone would collapse terribly if Turkey attacks Greece. One single Turkish missle could destroy the hole EU. Did you ever realized how instable the EU is? I love you, Atina!
You are speaking as a Pakistani or as a Turkish? Judging by your childish comment, I guess it's the former.

WTF are you even talking about? Seems there are so many delusional people on this site.
You are putting Turkey wit France and U K in the same sentence? Seriously? Lool

Anyway, coming back to topic, I don't see why people are so woke up and emotional about this comment ERDOGAN made, its natural for some leaders to often make grandiose remarks which might be inflammatory for public opinion. I don't fit once believe this will ever translate into action. It's just normal rhetoric some leaders often engage in for domestic purpose. Happens sometimes even in western countries , so I don't read too much into this. The status quo will continue. :P

“We have our monuments and our mosques there [on the islands],” he said.
Sure, and the Greeks have monuments and temples in cities in Anatolia. Is Erdogan willing to give Ephesus, Miletus, Halicarnassus, etc. back, in exchange for the islands Greece now holds?

It would be interesting. Europe would fight Erdo-Turkey and after beating it it would be de-AKP-fied and put under allied control. Lose large parts to allied nations.

Given the fact that Turkey has no nuclear capacity, no allies in reality and no working airforce it would be quite easy. Even more so in 21st century with advanced warfare. Be it cyper attacks on infrastructure.

Even more interesting would be the fact that media here already "dehumanized" them. Who would care for their casualities? Look at their coup, nobody in Europe realyl did care about the victims.

Which visa topic? Tomorrow ends the 4th Ultimatum Erdo put up. EU doesnt even discuss this topic anymore and Erdo stays silent, hoping his sheep forgot about it.

I think we made clear enough that all this is diplomatic fiction.

I think we and you must understand one thing. Negotiations between our blocks dont work.

We look down on turkey. Its plain and simple hated. It took 7 years to barely made an agreement with Canada. A nation similar to us.

There will never be any agreement with Turkey simply because the massive anti sympathy is far to great.

As austrian chancellor Kern said: its pure diplomatic fiction.

Nope, that again is another emotional statement. So I disagree. It's like some people from the developing world who keep wishing nuclear powers like U.S, U.K, France will go to war with Russia(even though we all know that will never happen for obvious reasons.lol) . just like thinking western powers will ever invade Turkey for some silly reason is just laughable. There's is absolutely no reason or way we would do that. Serves n o interests at all. The one we did wth Iraq has caused more than enough instability in the ME already, plus Turkey is a NATO member. So what silly logic are you implying to invade a NATO member. Lol

So much tantrum over a historical correct statement. :D
Did he say we want them back? Calm down everybody, we are quite busy with our backyard anyway.

You guys are so silly, Erdogan just wants Greece to invest more in its military which means he is contributing to strenghtening NATO. :disagree:

if your going to play the "we used to own that" game you need to be carefull.

Greece might want some of its old empire back.

Turks and Romanians are plagued by a cultural thing when it comes to corruption and I'm afraid this is an old Byzantine legacy widely spread throughout the region of the Balkans.
It's not cultural -- Maybe just a little bit , but, we're not as bad as other cultures/nations etc.
And wouldn't be right to blame the Byzantine/Ottomans for it, that's just silly.

Off topic but doesn't the name of Turkey President sound like Lord Of the Rings character - Erdogen
Welcome mi lady(if you are one). :D

turkey invading a NATO country and an orthodox Christian would mean the nuclear end of turkey and all turks by NATO and Russia.
No, that's only IF, and thats a BIG IF Turkey leaves NATO and then attacks a NATO member(both will never happen this century, even Soviet Russia at its peak U.S.S.R era never dared attack a NATO member, much less a barely regional power like Turkey). Then only then will NATO react and stop Turkey, and No we don't even need nukes to stop that from happening to be honest.

Why not who are you? Do you think we are one of your former colonies or something? Just because you was powerful from 1800 to 1945 dont think we are one of the small states you ran over. Before your little island was there my ancestors defeated all the crusaders in Jerusalem, the holy alliances in europe.

Invading Turkey will never ever ever be as easy as Iraq or something lol. If push comes to shove we unite like not seen before in a very quick time and especially this land after millions of deaths in WW1 was not gained easily.

I think the this guy is confusing us with one of the artifical states created by the british and french that have no sense of unity and cultural, ethnic unity, religious unity.
