Envoy: Iran among China's Most Important Trade Partners

For instance. US recently announced that it's shifting it's foreign policy focus to the Asia pacific region. To some extent in order to challenge growing chinese influence. China has significant trade ties with US' greatest enemy in the Middle east, Iran. What possibilities exist for china to use these trade ties as a bargaining chip in order to reduce US activity in the Asia pacific?

None, US ain't leaving South Korea or Japan. They have increased their presence in the Philippines. US wants a China pivot so do you really think China would stop importing oil from Iran so the Americans would leave the Pacific region?

Not necessarily stop entirely or leave Asia pacific completely but reduce imports for some key strategic interest of China. What are the key strategic interests of China in Asia Pacific that is currently under american influence?

Safe guarding our sovereignty. You should know China is having disputes with Japan, Vietnam and Philippines right now. USA ain't gonna leave the area so why would China even use Iran as a bargaining chip?

Not going to happen the US always planned on staying in Asia and China is not going to give up on buying oil from Iran, as of now Asia is buying most of Iran's Oil despite USA pressure.

How do the Chinese people view the Iranian people?

Might be off topic but positive for Mainland China.

The Malacca Strait and Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, but China is experimenting with different routes and bypass both in the future.

We view Iranians with a great deal of respect, as a fellow civilization and power of the Ancient World.

In China we have a tendancy to look back into history with nostalgia, back to a time when Eastern Civilizations like China and Iran were dominant in the world. Unlike the current Western world order.

And you are talking to Hu Songshan, who is a Hui Chinese, so he is likely to have some Persian descent like other Hui e.g. Admiral Zheng He.

American's Asia pivot is in fact China's pivot, then we will pivot American else where such in Middle East, Africa and South Ameirca maybe we don't have military yet but the intention is clear, we will never let U.S to lock us up within the first Island Chain. I think Iran and China have the commun interest to unlock the American's containment.

And that's where the Phillipines come in. I'm starting to see the bigger picture.

Just look at Libya, Gaddafi is a great example of US backstabbing policy. China ain't gonna back stab its allies, trading partners. All Iran's oil export are going to Asia and the biggest part to China. Iran has nothing to worry about declining oil export to China. Iran is worrying more about Israel and US and they should be. Almost the whole Middle East is f*cked up by US and you can see Northern Africa (Libya and Egypt) are in a mess. After Syria Iran is the only one left in the region.

America can be ruthless in the pursuit of their interests. Your position seems to be the consensus among the chinese, at least in PDF, which is somewhat reassuring.

Why doesnt China sell much needed military tech and equipment to Iran?

Iran is under an arms embargo otherwise they would have received the S-300 and buy foreign equipment.

But China has trade with Iran despite US sanctions, I do not comprehend why China doesn't see Iran as a potential arms market.

US sanctions target Irans military efforts as of now US allies like Japan, Korea, and Singapore still buy Iranian oil with waivers given by the US despite sanctions and they gave one to China, When the arms embargo is removed from Iran then yes they can buy, before the arms embargo Iran bought military equipment from China.

Because U.S didn't piss China off at the point to push us down to the cliff or We will be careless of U.S arm embargo . China also sure know how to keep the balance of interest to buy Iran oil while not piss American off nor anger them to have military alliance :pop:at the same time to Keep trade surplus with American while not piss Iran off as American A$$ kisser on Iranian nuclear issue.
