Energy shortfall and loadshedding: Updates and Discussions.

This is a thread to solely discuss the power shortfall and post updates on the loadshedding durations and stuff like that.

FOr future projects, energy plans etc refer to other threads.

Just today, 65% of Lahore in a blackout due to shortfall, the main transmission line has been shut.

Today after 1 to 2 hours, 5 hour loadshedding in Islamabad, 16 hours in villages, 22 hours in extreme cases.

The Caretaker Minister for power has said that this menace will not be stopped within 2 years any way you see it. It will need 5 to 6 years of a sustained policy and not adhoc measures.

what i dont undertsnad that near 6000 mw is produced through cheap hydal and nuclear, 2500 through cheap local gas(8500 vs demand of 15000) the rest 9000mw plants are closed due to circular debt.
so if all power is produced so cheap ewhere are high bills that we are paying going, where is the subsidy going and how come the circular debt is being increasd?
