Enemies desperate in face of IRGC might: Qods Force chief
TEHRAN, July 16 (MNA) -- The commander of the Qods Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has said that the enemies of the Islamic Revolution have become desperate in the face of the missile and naval might of the IRGC.

Major General Qassem Soleimani made the remarks during a gathering of commanders and personnel of the IRGC Naval Force held in Mashhad, the Persian service of Sepah News, the official website of the IRGC, reported on Monday.

He also said that the victories and achievements of the Islamic Republic have infuriated the enemies, to the point where they have felt compelled to make threats against and impose sanctions on Iran.

The IRGC staged a missile exercise, entitled the Great Prophet 7, from July 2 to 4 to display its missile capabilities amid heightened tension between Iran and the United States. During the war games, dozens of domestically manufactured missiles were fired at mock enemy targets.

The IRGC Naval Force also held a major naval exercise, entitled Velayat-90, in a large area from the east side of the Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf of Oman to the northern Indian Ocean from December 24, 2011 to January 2, 2012.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Soleimani commented on the impact of the Islamic Revolution of 1979 on international developments and said that the revolution gave rise to uprisings and Islamic movements around the world.

“The export of the Islamic Revolution has been a determining factor in the establishment of bases for the campaign against oppression in every corner of the world,” he said.
