Egyptian MiGs to equip with the latest equipment
A contract for the supply of which was signed between Russia and Egypt, will be equipped with the latest optical and electronic systems.
As told "Izvestia" the representatives of the aircraft industry, involved in the implementation of the contract, the Egyptian "twenty nine" will be equipped with the latest optical-location station OLS-UE, capable of not only detecting in a dogfight enemy planes on the heat generated by their engines, but also to find land and surface targets, determine their coordinates and output the image to the display in the cockpit.
In addition to OLS ordered Egyptian MiG-29M will get suspended sighting containers (AUC) on board which are set teplotelevizionnye systems and laser range finders that allow to apply not only to high-precision airborne weapons - bombs and missiles with television and laser seekers, but also ordinary ammunition deviation from the target, measured in tens of centimeters.
OLS-UE and AUC were developed and manufactured by one company - Research and Production Corporation "Precision Instrumentation Systems", which is part of the state corporation "Roscosmos".
- Currently, the MiG-29, standing on the arms of VKS Russia, are also equipped with optical-location station. But it is rather a means of air combat - told "Izvestia" representative of aerospace forces in Russia familiar with the situation.
According to the companion publication, OLS-UE set to "Egyptian" MiG-29M, not only transmits the TV and the infrared image on a display in the cockpit, but also, if necessary, with the help of the established system of laser range finder "illuminates" the purpose of creating an invisible to the naked eye spot on which induced precision-guided munitions.
Another novelty that came to Egypt will become small-sized plant productions of radio interference of SMEs developed by the Central Research Institute of them. Axel Berg.
